1 NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU NEW DELHI DRUG SITUATION REPORT/SIGNIFICANT EVENTS REPORT FOR INDIA FOR THE ONTH OF NOVEBER 2014 ********** This report is based on the information received from various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies till the end of November Significant seizures effected earlier but reported during November 2014 are also incorporated in this report. ***********

2 SEIZURES EFFECTED IN THE ONTH OF NOVEBER, 2014 On , officers of the 38 th Bn. of Border Security Force, Shikar, Gurdaspur, Punjab seized kg of & 36 grams of Opium and handed it over to the NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on Indo-Pak International Border on side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of the NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized kg of at Parking Area of Timarpur Bus Stand, New Delhi. 03 persons were arrested. On , officers of the Customs (Preventive), Land Customs Station, Attari Rail, Amritsar seized kg of from goods train came from Pakistan. The drug was concealed in the hose pipe (Vacuum pipe) in between the two wagons. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , acting on the information received from Kenya Airways in connection with the seizure of kg of ethamphetamine by South African Revenue Service from two consignments exported from Air Cargo Complex, umbai, officers of the Customs (Export), Air Cargo Complex, Sahar, umbai arrested 04 persons including 01 Nigerian National. On , officers of the 105th Bn. of Border Security Force, KS Wala Ferozpur, Punjab seized kg of and handed it over to the NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on Indo-Pak International Border on side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 90 grams of at the outskirts of Howrah Railway Station Complex. The drug was concealed in plastic packet. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of the NCB Imphal Sub Zonal Unit along with Assam Rifles, District administration and State Police conducted destruction operation of illicit opium poppy cultivation at Khunjai Ridge, Near Lamkang Khunou under Chandel district of anipur and destroyed illicit Opium poppy cultivation spread over 88 acres of land. On , officers of the NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 152 grams of from a courier parcel at DHL Express, near Kirti Nagar, New Delhi. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Canada. On , officers of the Goa Police intercepted a vehicle at Bardez, Goa and seized 205 grams of Amphetamine. 02 persons including 01 Nigerian National were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 369 kg of Ganja from a residential premise at adhya Srirampur, Purbasthali, Burdwan, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of the izoram, Aizawl seized 28 grams of at Tuikual North, Aizawl, izoram. 01 yanmar National was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar.

On , officers of the NCB, Cochin Sub Zone seized kg of at Cochin International Airport, Cochin. The drug was concealed in false bottom of carry bags. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Kuwait. 03 persons were arrested. On , officers of the Nagaland Police, Kohima Seized kg of at Kohima. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized kg of. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of the 6th Dogra Regiment, Imphal seized 740 grams of Opium and handed over to NCB, Imphal Sub Zone for action under NDPS act. On , officers of the Central Bureau of, Lucknow seized 500 grams of at Lucknow. 01 person was arrested. The drug was wrapped with old newspaper and further wrapped with polythene sheets and concealed in the truck. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Hyderabad Sub Zone intercepted two parcels and seized 2.45 grams of Ephedrine at the premises of a courier company at Secunderabad. The drug was concealed in the packet of Chicken asala. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Denmark and Poland. On , officers of the Customs, Special Intelligence & Investigation Branch (Import), umbai intercepted a parcel at Foreign Post Office, umbai and seized kg of Pseudo Ephedrine. The drug was concealed in a parcel of filament yarn spools. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Zimbabwe. On , officers of the 24 th Assam Rifles, Imphal seized 205 grams of and handed over to the NCB, Imphal Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. 01 person was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar.

4 On , officers of the Customs (Preventive), Land Customs Station, Attari Rail, Amritsar seized kg of from goods train came from Pakistan. The drug was concealed in the 03 Nos. of PVC pipes (31, 22 & 31 meters long) wrapped with yellow adhesive tape on both ends. These pipes were wrapped and fitted with vacuum cylinders of 03 wagons of goods train. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On , officers of the 24 th Assam Rifles, Imphal seized 60 grams of and handed over to the NCB, Imphal Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. 01 person was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar. On , officers of the NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized kg of. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of the 24 th Assam Rifles, Imphal seized 110 grams of and handed over to the NCB, Imphal Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. 01 person was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was yanmar. On officers of the NCB, Goa Sub Zone seized kg of at apusa Bus Stand, Goa. The drug was concealed in hand bag. 02 Foreign Nationals (01 Israel & 01 Portugal) were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized kg of near Parking Gate, Ghaziabad Railway Station. 03 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja from a residential premise at Samagra, Baro Khejuria, ogra, Hooghly, West Bengal. The drug was concealed in five slabs wrapped with transparent polythene & newspaper with brown adhesive tape. 01 person was arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Ajmer Sub Zone intercepted a vehicle and seized kg of Ganja at Village Chundawada or, NH-8, Bichchiwada, Dungarpur, Rajasthan. 02 persons were arrested. On , officers of the NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized kg of Ganja from a residential premise at village Sukantanagar, PO&PS Bsudbud, Burdwan, West Bengal. The drug was concealed in four white nylon sacks. 01 person was arrested. During the month of November, 2014, officers of the Customs, FPO, New Delhi intercepted 04 parcels containing 200 grams & 35 grams Ketamine. The suspected destinations of seized drugs were Netherland, France & USA. During the month of November, 2014, officers of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) seized kg of, kg of Ganja & 66 grams of in 16 cases and arrested 11 persons including 05 Foreign Nationals (01 Belarus & 04 Nepal Nationals). The suspected source of the seized drugs in most of these cases was Nepal. SEIZURES EFFECTED EARLIER BUT REPORTED IN NOVEBER, 2014 On , officers of the izoram, Aizawl seized 3.5 grams of at Aizawl, izoram. 01 yanmar National was arrested. On , officers of the izoram, Aizawl seized 27 grams of and 25 kg of Ganja at ualkawi, izoram. 01 yanmar National was arrested.
