The Jews and others who knew Him called Him Jehovah, which means the self-existent and eternal God, the One true God of all.

A spirit has no shape and no body. It is not something you can see or touch. The Jews and others who knew Him called Him Jehovah, which means the self-existent and eternal God, the One true God of all. The prophet Isaiah said, way back before Jesus was born, Behold, God is my salvation I will trust and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song: He also is become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2). He was saying that the invisible Jehovah has become my salvation! When you take the name Jesus in its Greek form it is Joshua which is literally translated Jehovah has become salvation. That name, Jesus, describes God Himself, who we could see, the humanity that could die for us. A spirit cannot die, so God needed a body. I Timothy 3:16 declares, And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believe on in the world, received up into glory. It says He was seen of angels! Why were the angels so excited on the day of His birth in Bethlehem? Because people could now SEE God!! The spirit of God was manifested in a body we could see, becoming the sacrifice to save you and me! When we are baptized and have Jesus name spoken over us, we are getting His name applied to our lives! He is the Father who created us, a spirit which is invisible. But He is Jesus who became the physical sacrifice for the sins of the world. Jesus is the only saving name. What a name! Family Prayer: Lord, we know that Your name is the only saving name!
