If I wanted to drive a manager up the wall: I would make him responsible for the success of an organization and give him no authority. I would provide him with unclear goals not commonly agreed upon within the organization. I would ask him to provide a service of ill-defined nature, applying a body of knowledge having few absolutes, and give him only volunteers for assistance. I would expect him to work ten to twelve hours per day and have his work evaluated by a committee of five hundred people. I would call him a minister and make him accountable to God. Confirmation Classes Begin eptember 2015 Confirmation is an intentional time of faith education and exploration for youth during their 7th grade year or when they reach age 13.

FULL MIUT A AVAILABL I TH ATHX O TH FOT OFFIC. From your Council eps... ach month a different Church Council representative will be writing a brief article for the ewsletter. This month s article is from the Council President. Imagine Moses and thousands of Hebrews wandering in the desert for 40 years. What kind of problems did they encounter? How come Aaron gets to be worship leader again?! I hate it when Aaron is the worship leader! Why can t someone else be the worship leader? Why do we have to sing this song? This song has 28 verses and we have to sing every one of them! Why can t we sing that tambourine song Miriam did last week? I know I ve heard this sermon before! Why does Moses keep recycling his sermons? Ok, I can t take complete credit for this, I read something similar in a Max Lucado book once, but the message is still valid. The problems in any congregation are nothing new; the same problems have existed for thousands of years! As Christians we too often focus on the problems rather than the mission: "To make Christ known in our love for one another, by service to our neighbor, and in worship of God". That means we are all partners in the ministry of First vangelical Lutheran Church, orth Platte. Lori vans, Church Council President

Thank you to Claudette & Kathy for the flowers for our anniversary. Lynn & haron. Friends in Christ, as First Lutheran nears 24 years of service doing soup suppers at alvation Army. I feel the need to step back and let others take over organizing. I will help if I can. I have found it rewarding-helping those less fortunate. Building friendships with some there, especially the gracious faithful helpers with cooking, with serving and furnishing food. You call, they give. A very special thanks to all. These friendships I shall always cherish. Our next servicing date is October 2, I pray that First Lutheran saints may find a plan to continue. If you have the opportunity to encourage the need for more churches, organization, groups to help, more would be great. There are 8 churches rotation each month. I believe this is a great opportunity to serve God in our Community. May God Bless you. In Christian Love and Thanks, Donna K A l t a r F l o w e r s : O p e n u n d a y s If you would like to provide flowers for a special occasion, in honor of, in memory of or to the Glory of God, please pick up a form in the office. 6 Women of the LCA news... The first unday we put out 32 school bags and all were taken!!! We will put more out during this month and hope to reach our goal of 50+ filled bags. We appreciate everyone participating. eturn the filled bags by eptember 1st. W O M O F chool Kits Why school supplies? To the children who receive chool Kits, these supplies mean the difference between getting an education or not. Public school is usually free, but in the places where LW works, even a few required supplies, like pens and paper, may be more than many families can afford. And when parents can only afford to send one of their children to school, girls rarely get priority yet the education level of mothers has the biggest impact on development. Thank you for your generosity! T H L C A WLCA Bread and alad Luncheon Thursday, eptember 3rd at 11:45 am *Bring a bread or salad to share*.
