Along with the support of our Stephen Ministers, we will offer a Blue Christmas Worship Service on Sunday, Dec 4th at 5pm in the Sanctuary. This is a service designed for those suffering with sadness, loss, or grief during the Advent and Christmas season. There will be candles, music, prayers for healing and readings from Scripture to create a sacred and welcoming space. In the midst of darkness, this is a service of hope and light. WEDNESDAY NIGHT POT-LUCK SUPPER: Come join your church family on December 7 for our monthly Wednesday Night Pot-Luck Supper at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The food and fellowship are great fun, so be sure to include an LUMC evening in your plans. Please remember our 15 guests from UMAR and bring extra food to share. LIVE NATIVITY: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10 While you re driving through the community or headed to the UMM s Christmas Breakfast in the Evening, stop by the front lawn to enjoy the Catalyst Youth s portrayal of the greatest gift ever given! There will be three showings of the Live Nativity: 4:30, 5:30 & 7:30pm. If you would like to help behind the scenes, contact Emily in the church office. The Angel Trees are in the narthex and west wing lobby. The angel tags are labeled boy or girl. You can choose a gift for any age you like, infant through 16 years old (no clothes, please). Join us on Sundays for relaxed discussion of contemporary issues in a loving environment.

ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18, AT 11:00 AM, the Chancel Choir will present "A Noel Celebration" by Lloyd Larson. Christmas is a season of joyous sounds and stories. Come as we revisit and celebrate the story of Jesus' birth. HELP SOMEONE WITH CHRISTMAS! LCAP receives several calls each year asking for help for Christmas for their families. If you are willing to adopt a family for Christmas, please call Rita STAFF CHRISTMAS LOVE OFFERING: Again this year, the Staff-Parish Committee wants to give the congregation an opportunity to contribute to a love offering for the church staff of Ivan, Susan, June, Emily, Debby, and Toni. We will present this opportunity on three Sundays (Dec. 4, Dec. 11, and Dec. 18). The money collected will be divided and presented before Christmas. LEWISVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE: Come out to see the LUMC Preschool and Children s Ministry float in the Lewisville Christmas Parade on December 11 at 3 pm. If you would like to donate candy, please leave it in the candy donation box located in the preschool lobby. If you and your child would like to walk with us in the parade, please contact Tracy Conner: tracy.conner@lumcpreschool.com. WE ARE IN NEED OF A DRIVER TO TAKE OUR DONATIONS TO CRISIS CONTROL! At the present time, we have no one to deliver our donations to Crisis Control. 5 CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST IN THE EVENING: The United Methodist Men s Christmas Breakfast in the Evening will be held Saturday, December 10, at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Menu: Tenderloin, eggs, grits, biscuits, gravy, cereal, milk, coffee, juice. Donations will be accepted for Methodist Men s charities. Please fill out a reservation slip and place it in the offering plate or call the church office ( ) so we will know how many will be attending. _ Yes, I/we will attend Christmas Breakfast in the Evening! WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP IN THE NURSERY! CHRISTMAS EVE COMMUNION AND CANDLE LIGHTING SER- VICES: Two services: 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. An inspiring service to celebrate the night of our Lord s birth. The service will include music/ carols, inspirational thoughts, Holy Communion and a candle lighting service that will touch your heart. Bring the whole family (we have a special time for the children), extended family and friends, and make this Christmas Eve a night to remember. Don t miss this wonderful celebration on this holy night. Come join us as we spread some Christmas cheer! We re going caroling on Sunday, December 18. Meet in the old parking lot at 4:00 pm SHARP. We ll carpool from there. We ll conclude our evening with heavy hors d oeuvres and finger foods at the church. LEWISVILLE IS A STEPHEN MINISTRY CHURCH. Stephen Ministers are trained lay care-givers who provide emotional and spiritual care to persons who are experiencing difficulties in their lives hospitalization, loss of a loved one, loss of job, or any other crisis situation. This is care in addition to the care the pastor gives. If you are interested in having a Stephen Minister, fill out one of the slips in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate or hand it to the minister or one of the Stephen Leaders or Tom Lee.
