1 FAITH COMETH BY HEARING Rom 10:17 So then (1)faith cometh (2)by hearing, and (3)hearing (4)by the word of God. (KJV) Definitions: (1)Faith-4102 pistis (pis'-tis); from 3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: KJV-- assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): KJV-- agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. (2) By-1537 ek or ex- out of, from, by, away from. (3) Hearing-189 akoe (ak-o-ay'); from 191; hearing (the act, the sense or the thing heard): KJV-- audience, ear, fame, which ye heard, hearing, preached, report, rumor. a primary verb; to hear (in various senses): KJV-- give (in the) audience (of), come (to the ears), ([shall]) hear (-er, -ken), be noised, be reported, understand.
