Miller (55) and six other children (30 years old to 11 years old). Miller into the army John Q. Miller was discharged from the army due to a disability on 25 March Awarded silver medal by board of honor, Champion s Hill, Vicksburg on 4 April Enlisted with 8th Illinois Cavalry, Co. B on 23 September 1864 (General Orders No. 13) Farmer John (25) and Sarah A. Miller (b in IL) lived in Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouri with carpenter Martin L. Howard (22) and Malissa J. Howard (19) 1880 Farmer John (36) and Sarah A. Miller (b in IL) lived in Mount Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouri. Also lived with them are Florence B. (b. 1872), Laura M. (b. 1875), Dora F. (b. 1877), all children born in Missouri Pension as invalid was filed by John Q. Miller on 25 September 1880 (note state recorded) Billy Miller was born, took up the trade as harness maker before he moved to Nebraska. He left Algonquin, Modern Woodmen held a party in 1918 when he left town. Bought harness shop of Wandrank in Algonquin physician, Dr. Nason treated John Q. Miller for pneumonia in March On 11 November 1890 Rev. Monroe of Dundee officiated the burial in Algonquin Cemetery of John Q. Miller Sarah Miller (b. June 1854 in IL) lived with Dora (21), day laborer William (b in MO) lived in Algonquin, Illinois on North Main Street next or near to Albrecht residence. 81

5 John Q. Miller Page 3 DIED:- At Algonquin, Illinois, John Q. Miller, aged 46. In August, 1862, Mr. Miller enlisted in Co. I, 95th Illinois Regiment. He was discharged in 1863 for disability, in 1864 he enlisted in the 8th Illinois Cavalry and served in that regiment to the close of the war. Mr. Miller leaves wife and four children to mourn his loss. He was a great sufferer for a number of years, but now we trust, he is at rest. He was buried at the cemetery on the hill. Rev.
