2 The Mormon History Association The Mormon History Association ( is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 organization devoted to all aspects of the Mormon past. It strives to be the preeminent catalyst and forum worldwide for encouraging the scholarly study of Mormon history. It pursues its mission by sponsoring annual conferences; encouraging the highest quality research and publication; and awarding book, article, and other prizes. Its official periodical, the Journal of Mormon History, fosters the publication of independent, scholarly research. Membership in the association is open to all Mormon History Association. All illustrative materials, including maps, charts, tables, and graphs, should be attached in a separate file(s), and not embedded in the electronic document. All such illustrative materials must be supplied by the author.
