Then the ladies will assemble gift bags for our shut-ins and nursing home residents (there are approximately 37 this year). Deadline for these do- nations is Sunday, December 1. You may select from these items: Listerine, Scope mouthwash (8.4 oz.), Crest or Colgate toothpaste, Suave Advanced Therapy lotion, fingernail clippers, Johnson Baby Powder, Secret, Suave, Ban stick form deodorants, Avon lip balm, or Chapstick. Additional ideas include combs, small Kleenex packs, pretzel, crackers, or cheese curl packs, and emery boards. The Home does ask that we not include candy. There will be a box in the Narthex for these items. Thanks for remembering our shut-ins. Dec. 7 for the immediately The Jolly Olde Timers will be attending the Christian Life Assembly Christmas show The Last Christmas in Collier s Grove. Check the bulletin board latest information. We will be eating at the Peppermill Restaurant following the show. Dec. 9-6:30 p.m. All ladies of the congregation are invited to the Doubling Gap Center for A Warm & Fuzzy Christmas: dinner. Appetizers, dinner, fellowship and a program are included in the $12.50 cost. You may view the invitation and sign- up at the CGWM bulletin board in the hallway just across from the nursery. Cash or check (payable to Doubling Gap Center) may be given to Karen Sheriff by Sunday, December 1st. Don t forget to bring a pair of new socks (any size, kind or color) to be donated to the Salvation Army. Dec. 10-7:15 p.m. Tree of Life Celebration at the Church Home. Dec. 15-7:00 p.m. The Jesus Gift is the title of the Christmas cantata which the choirs will present. Following the cantata there will be Cookies and Conversation in the gymnatorium. The offering received that evening will go towards helping refurbishing a cottage at Scotland Winebrenner. Dec. 22 be Dec. 24-3:00 p.m. Organist Michael Minnich will present a Rodgers organ concert with music from just about every era and many styles. A free will offering will donated to the Church of God Home s Forever Caring Fund. - 7:30 p.m. Traditional Christmas Eve Service PRAYER REQUESTS To have a prayer request put on the telephone prayer chain, you should

May they continue to be blessed in their work for building up new disciples as well as encouraging older ones. SYMPATHY IS EXPRESSED to the family of Mrs. Arlene (Rusty) Miller who entered heaven s gates, Tuesday, November 19. Pastor Greg will conduct a private graveside service tomorrow at Westminster Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to her daughter Bonnie Hamman, a Carlisle First member, to 1470 Longs Gap Rd, Carlisle OUR CHURCH has decided to participate in the Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry cookie distribution program. Would you be willing to bake a few dozen cookies and bring them to the church no later than December 3. If you bring them by December 1, you may place them in the Narthex and the ladies will divide them up into bags (at their meeting December 3) which will be given to truck drivers at the local truck stops. This is a wonderful ministry and great way to reach out and touch the lives of so many! Everyone in the congregation is invited to participate. MR. PAUL LAUVER will celebrate his birthday on November 27. His address is: Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA IT S TIME TO ORDER YOUR FRUIT BOXES Once again the Fruitbelt Farmwoker Christian Ministry farmworker@comcast.net or is having an annual fundraiser. Please pick up your order form on the bulletin board to purchase a fruit box(es) or to help with the packing or distribution on December 14 between 10:30 and noon. One pick up location is our own church parking lot. CHURCH HOME GRANDFATHER We now have a new grandfather at our Church Home. His name is John Niesley and he grew up on a farm near Churchtown. He has two daughters living out of state and also had a son who is deceased. Look in the next newsletter for addition information. He would appreciate a welcoming or a Thanksgiving card to brighten his day. Vida Childers, our church grandmother, also enjoys receiving card. EVERY LIGHT IS A LIFE.A life to be remembered, a life to be honored. Is there someone here on earth or in their heavenly home who you would like to celebrate? A donation in any amount will be accepted in return for a luminary which will bear their name and that will light our way as we gather on Christmas Eve. A list of the loved ones and their sponsors will appear in the bulletin that evening. All proceeds benefit our Church Team for the American Cancer Society s Relay for Life that takes place in May. Order forms are available in the Narthex and may be deposited along with your donation in the Luminary Bag on display through December 15. Junior Church Director: Mrs. Cathie Burkholder The Junior Church will be celebrating the season of Advent with lessons that teach about the anticipation and hope of the birth of Christ. We will be singing praises, using rhythm instruments and objects to teach lessons that remind us of God s most precious gift, His Son. A special thank you to all the staff that support our program and teach our children about the great love of God. We also wuld like to thank our piano students, Nicholas Kuhn, Clara and Wesley Dellinger who will be sharing their musical talents before our services during the month of December. 6 Co-Directors: Mrs. Lisa Dellinger Mrs. Cheryl Gobin BLAST is preparing for Christmas by having a party on December 11 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., where we will be making Christmas cards for residents at the Church Home. Then on December 18 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. BLAST will be singing at the Church Home while delivering the cards. BLAST is collecting money again this year to help local families have a Merry Christmas. Please give your money donation to Cheryl Gobin or Lisa Dellinger by December 8. Thank you to all who have or will donate to this special happening. JUNIOR CHOIR Junior Choir 6:00 p.m. Wednesday Evening Children age 4 through Grade 5 Director: Mrs. Diana Ciucci The children sing the fourth Sunday every month during Sunday worship from October through March. Please contact Diana Ciucci at or dciucci1416@comcast.net if you have any questions. This does not interfere with BLAST. The children will go directly from practice to BLAST. It would be wonderful to see a large Junior Choir for our church.
