New this year is a snowbird group (May- Oct.) and a group capped at 10..Groups meet once a month for the year, rotating hosts. The host provides the main dish and sets the theme if any. 6 Page 6 Duplicate Bridge Contact: Beryl Clayson clayson@cogeco.ca Meets at the Claysons on the fourth Monday of each month at 1:00 pm. In order that tables, boards, computer etc. can be set up before you arrive, please contact Beryl & Paul Clayson at least a day before the date, if you wish to play. Although we have about 30 regular members, we can still use a few more, especially couples, since there is a preponderance of ladies at present. As the newsletter editor, I think that this problem is easily solved! Men Wanted! Paul would really like some male company.
7 Page 7 ipad Club Contact: Lynn Todgham ldtodgham@bell.net This club meets at Lynn s home. Please let Lynn know if you are attending or if you are interested on being on her notification list. Photography Contact: Ken Koehler kkoehler@vianet.ca The next get-together of the Probus Photo Group will be at 2:00 pm on Friday February 6th. Ken and Barb will be hosting at their Huntsville Condo Dairy Lane, Suite 101. For our theme, we're borrowing the title of Gerald Durrell's book "My Family and Other Animals" in which he describes the antics of his family and the various animal life he collected while growing up on the Greek Island of Corfu. So we have almost unlimited scope to capture family members "in action" over the Holiday Season and/or any animal life (domesticated or wild!) that we should come across (or which we can find in our "photo archives")! As always, if you cannot appear in person, ed images to kkoehler@vianet.ca are always welcome! And if you'd just like to see what the Photo Group is all about, please feel free to come along as a spectator! Wine Appreciation Contact: Jeff and Ann Cox jeffcox88@gmail.com We meet once a month, usually in the late afternoon as a group of 12 or less in a member s home.
8 Page 8 Each person pays $15 to the host who is responsible for choosing and buying the wine for that month as well as providing simple appetizers. There is a final get together of everyone at which we choose our favorite wine of the year. This group is organized much like the dining in groups, where people who are away a number of months will be spread throughout the groups, so "snowbirds" can join in. This is a wonderful way to get to know people. In 2015 the meetings will run from January until November. Photos Please submit photos for this section.
