1 THE COMMUHJTY CHURCH HEWS Vol. IV Friday, April 9, 1937 PROGRESS Amazing progress is toeing made hy the Community Church in Stow. Developments, exceeding the dreams and hopes cif the most faithful, are actually unfolding every week. It is altogether probable that in the very next issue of this paper announcement will be fortihcoirning of a program for the Community Church that will exceed anything ever attempted by church activity in Stew, at any time whatsoever. The minister and official board have at this time a program pending that will enhance the community spirit in christian activity many fold. Wat'ch this page for announcement next week. We have never been extravagant in display advertisement. If we knew ourselves at all conservation has swung the balance, our effort has teen to deliver the goods, to let thei work speak for itself. New the hour has struck, the day is at hand. In the spirit of Caleb' we say, Let us go up at on,ce and possess the land for we are well able to overcome it. Under God this is always true. No group o'f men can accomplish a great and lasting work in the realm of the Spirit unless God be with them. The Community Church n o t only has won the right to live, it now gives evidence of being a mighty power for good, sending its rays cf light, cf truth, of hope afar in every direction. This church probably embodies eighteen or twenty different faiths or creeds. Approximately twenty different denominations find a common ground on which to labor for the loving Lord. Never in my three and a half, years as minister have I heard one word of contention relative to church doctrine. One is our Master, even Christ and all we are brethren. STOW, OHIO No. IS This is glorious evidence to the world that a new day, a day long sought and prayed for, is at hand. The Community Church in Stow will contend for a vital spiritual contact with Almighty God, it will advance in faith believing there is a mighty reality in pure, unadulterated Christianity. If this church, or any church, survives the renaissance through which Christianity is passing it must have the magnimimity to free itself from many pet tenets and hold fast to the simple gospel truths taught by the Master. GEO. M. HULME OUR BIBLE SCHOOL A Current Lesson Analysis For April 18 This lesson is intended primarily to be a temperance 1 lesson. It approaches the subject from the result.angle. The text is found in several different books of the Old Testament. The principle topic is the destruction of Sodiom and Gomrnorrah and the principle characters are Abraham, Sarah his wife, Lot his nephew and the members of the family of Lot. The purpose of the lesson is to teach the curse oif sin. In other words it teaches chat those who forget God and revel in the lust of wordly pleasure must fac? the wrath of God. God made a covenant with Abraham when he was seventy-five years old that he would give him a land for his descendants and God directed him to take his household and start out. Abraham, whose, name was then Abram, took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew and did as the Lord comimandied him. He was lead by God to Canaan. Here he and Lot established themselves and developed herds, for.they were shepherds. It was not long until dissentdon developed between the herdsmen of Lot and those of Abraham over the division Rev. Hulme's Subjedl: - Your House Left Desolate

Abraham, who was always capable of exercising excellent judgment, proposed a division which was accepted fay Lot with the understanding that Lot would take his portion of tlhe herd to other pastures and keep t'hem separate. Lot chose the fertile plains of the lower Jordan near the Dead Sea and took his family to live in Sodom which was a city of idolatry and knew not God.
