2 70, of Hamilton, New Jersey departed this world on February 16, Freddie Mae, daughter of the late Freddie L. Butler (Dollie) and the late Udelle Butler, was born on May 5, 1943 in Wrightsville, Georgia. Freddie, as she was affectionately called, has three brothers, Julius Butler, Stanford Butler, Freddie L. Butler, Jr., and five sisters, Gloria Richmond, Patricia A. Hall, Wanda D. King, Dollie S. Hamlin and Robin Archie. Freddie graduated from Orange High School in 1962 and she worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company, retiring at an early age after thirty years of service. She continued her employment with Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Company retiring after ten years of service. As a child, Freddie attended the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder BJ Johnson of Elizabeth, New Jersey with her grandmother, Idella Butler. Later on Freddie joined Second Macedonia Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Willie Wells where she was a member for twenty-three years. Freddie served on many committees in the Church which included, President of the Pastor Aides, Vice President of the Usher Board, Building Fund Committee, Youth Support Group and Wells Ensemble Support Group as well as various banquet committees. Freddie lived in Linden for many years before relocating to Hamilton Township in 2006, where she was led by the Spirit to join Macedonia Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey under the leadership of Pastor Keith A. Marshall. Freddie enjoyed the teaching of Pastor Marshall and the friendly and loving environment of Macedonia Church. Freddie leaves to cherish her fond memories her siblings, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends including The Pond Run Housing residents where she resided and her friends at the Dialysis Center. If I can help somebody as I travel along, If I can cheer somebody with a word or song, If I can show somebody he or she is traveling wrong, Then my living will not be in vain.

4 We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
