The information concerning musical selections and announcements of WHWB from 4 :32 A.M. to 5 :00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, are correct in every detail. WHWB operates, as you know, on 1000 Kilocycles with a power of 1000 Watts. We are a non -directional daytime station, our transmitter is a Raytheon Model RA A and located about three miles Northwest of the City of Rutland, our tower is a 259 foot self - supporting Lehigh. You may be interested in knowing that we have received thirty -one (31) letters and cards stating that they received us during the same period of time that you did. Sorry your reception was not clearer. We have received reports from the following places - during the above period: Jacksonville, Florida Lincoln, Nebraska Staten Island, N. Y. River Forest, Ill. Reading, Pa. Chevoygan, Michigan Mendota, Ill. Bypro, Ky. Wheeling W.Va. Cedar Rapids, Iowa Providence, R.I. Westfield, New York Cleveland, Ohio Uniontown, Pa. Camden, N. J. Seymour, Conn. I am sorry reception was poor. I am sure we would have had a much better showing if WP hpd not experienced transmitter difficulties, which cut down our strength considerably. 1 would appreciate running another show at some future date and see if we can improve the reports from DX'ers all over the country. The best report we have ever received was from, a couple of years ago during a frequency check. If we did it before we can do it again. The program consisted of march music and announcements. 0-I this program I said that we would send a can of Vermont Maple Syrup to our most distant listener. Apparently that part of the announcement was under KERO at the you heard us as you did not mention it. However, as your report had enough information to be verified and as our most distant report of the DX program came from you I a :u very pleased to inform you that we are shipping by Railway Express a can of Vermont Maple Syrup. It should reach you in a few days. I am sure that if you have never used Vermont Maple Syrup you are in for a special treat. May I suggest that when you have your buckwheat cakes and sausage or your waffles that maple syrup is just the thing to add tt-iat extra flavor that makes you go back for more; orglaze your ham with syrup before popping it into tie oven for the final glaze -it is really good. Thank you for your report. It was very pleasing to know that we were getting out that far even though there was interference on us at times.
