3 Hi Members At last winter is here freezing cold and some rain. Hope everyone is feeling fit and healthy if not get well soon. Our Fun weekend went off really well there were plenty of engines to look at and we had a good lot of people visiting and a bit of tractor pulling as well. Winners of the Grocery hamper were: 1st Morrie Brown, 2nd Peter Lawrence. Next meeting will be the AGM July 8 th at 10am. See you all there. Moved Russell Seconded Garry The engine on the Wood Splitter belongs to Ernie and so the majority voted that the club will sell the whole machine to Ernie for $500. Moved Ross Seconded Russell The Wednesday guys will clean up all the scrap metal and wood in the next few weeks. At 11am today the Corowa Lions club president presented the club with a Defibrillator and our president gave him a $500 cheque. A Certificate of Appreciation will be delivered to them by a club member at a later date. Ross Barber is to organise an instructor for the Defibrillator. 9 The Adventures of uncle Arthur June 2018 The ongoing saga of the maggot restoration was getting closer to the completion so Cotterpin and his helpers decided to fill up the rear end with oil, then they noticed that it was leaking on the floor, now what s wrong OH!!! Buggar someone forgot to put the plug in. Arthur borrowed Boss Barber s car to go down the street, all was good until Arthur tried to start the car. Unfortunately Boss Barber had the keys in his pocket which allowed the car to start when he was standing next to it but not from down the street. Boss had to get a ride down to get it started. Jack s wife Pearl while having dinner at the last Fun weekend obviously in the back of her mind she didn t want to eat her sweets to fast, when she sat down to eat them she had grabbed a teaspoon. (should have gone to spec savers). A couple of Wednesdays ago Garry Perfect was pulling out the air hose for some of us to use and the last pull on the hose the real broke off the wall Buggar!!!. We found out later that Arthur s brother Jack had head butted the reel some time earlier and had the proof on top of his head. Banjo decided to take the Roller for a run last week (obviously there was no rain in sight), he thought the fuel might have been getting a bit stale so he jump in and turned on the key and the gauge showed half full or was it half empty I m not sure. He thought good that will do I ll go for a run out Redlands road and then top it up with fresh fuel. So of he went and got about two k s down the road Buggar!!!! Ran out of petrol. (that s the problem with buying cheap quality cars). Banjo then had to ring his nephew who organised some fuel for him. (didn t have to worry about having any stale fuel in the tank). Mick Quinn must believe in magic because after the Autumn week end he was loading up his tractors and standing on the front deck of the trailer he thought that he could fly, so jumped off and then realised that he was wrong OUCH!!!!!!@!@!! Well that s about it for this month so as Arthur say Hooroo. The Observer President s Report 2018 Another great year for our club two great Fun weekends and main Tractor Pull weekend. We finally had a large number of engine displays, the best one so far and I m sure the weather had a lot to do with it. It was great to see the Leneva engine club bringing so many engines for display, good to see some more inter club participation. I would like to thank all members for their help over the last year, especially sec. Greg and treasurer Lyn. (I was told to thank the old editor as well). Something to think about, New membership Bylaws, as we are getting a lot of people looking to join our Club just for cheap Rego. This is totally against the whole idea of vintage club registration. Some suggestions, Have to be an ACTIVE member for 1 or 2 years before being eligible, no campervans or converted trucks, no hot rods etc. Bring your ideas to the next meeting as we will need to put something on paper for our rego officers future direction.
