1 I Know My Savior Lives [To narrate the program, we have question and answers between a teacher and her class reviewing what they have learned in primary this year. The student parts just cycle through the students in the class.] Teacher: Good morning class. For primary today, we are going to review what we have been learning this year in sharing time. Does anyone know what the theme is for the year? Jesse: I do. It is I Know My Savior Lives Student 1: And the scripture that goes with it is from Job 19:25, For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth Teacher: That s right. This year we learned about lots of different things, from the calling of prophets to the restoration of the Gospel; from the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel to service and following the Holy Ghost. Student 2: We especially learned a lot about the life of Jesus Christ, his example and his miracles. Sister Coleman: Yes, and no matter what we were learning about, everything related to Jesus Christ, that he lives and that he loves us. Way back in January, we learned about how Jesus Christ fits in the Godhead. Student 3: Yes, I remember. I all related to the first article of faith. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost Student 4: I learned that God is the Father of My Spirit, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. [CTR 4 class. They complete the sentences with their own answers.] Song: I know that My Savior Loves Me

2 Teacher: Once we learned about Jesus being part of the godhead, we learned about his special role in the Godhead. Does anyone know what that is? Student 5: I know. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. Student 1: In John 3:16, it says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. In a few sentences, tell the story of the last supper, the garden of Gethsemane, the crucifixion and resurrection. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all mankind may be saved. Share your testimony of Jesus Christ and his atonement. Jesus Christ was resurrected, and I will be too. Share a scripture about the resurrection and share your feelings about one day being resurrected & having a perfect body. Song: He Sent His Son, p. 34. Teacher: Jesus is our Savior, and part of the godhead, but how do we know all that? And when God wants to tell us something, how does he do it? Student 2: God Speaks through Prophets Student 3: In Luke 1:70, it says, He spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began. Prophets are called by God. In your own words, tell the story of how Moses was called from a burning bush See Exodus 3:1-10) In your own words tell how the Old Testament prophet Samuel was called by God (See 1Samuel 3:1-10) In your own words, tell the process by which a prophet is called today. Prophets testify of Jesus Christ. Tell about one prophet who testified of Christ such as Abinadi (Mosiah 14-17) or Samuel the Lamanite (Helaman 13-15). There is safety in following the prophet. Moses kept the children of Israel safe when they were escaping from Egypt by parting the Red Sea. God speaks through prophets. Today, God speaks through President Monson. At our recent conference, President Monson taught us... Song: Follow the Prophet, p. 110.

3 Teacher: It is true that God speaks through prophets, but after Christ died there was an apostasy. How did we get the true gospel back on the earth? Student 4: Jesus Christ Restored the Fullness of the Gospel through Joseph Smith Student 5: Because of that the church now is just like in old times. The 6 th article of faith teaches us that We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. Jesus Christ restored the priesthood through Joseph Smith. Teacher: What steps can we take to follow Jesus Christ? Student 5: The Principles and Ordinances of the Gospel Lead Me to Jesus Christ Student 1: The fourth article of faith says, We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. My faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened when I obey. Give an example of when you obeyed a principle of the gospel and your faith in that principle grew because of your obedience. I can repent. Describe the steps of repentance. Share a personal experience or a general example of how you repented/could repent. How do you feel when you repent? When I am baptized I make a covenant with God. Explain what you promise God and what He promises you. When I am confirmed I receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Describe what happened when you were confirmed. (For example, who confirmed you and what priesthood did they hold, did others assist? Did they also have the priesthood? What words were said i.e. Receive the Holy Ghost. Did you get a special blessing afterwards? How did you feel?) Teacher. Let s talk a little bit more about the Holy Ghost. Who can tell me one role of the Holy Ghost? Student 2: The Holy Ghost Testifies of the Truth of All Things Student 3: In Moroni 10:5, it says, By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

4 The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He speaks in a still small voice. Share a brief experience when you or someone else felt or heard the Holy Ghost give direction in a still small voice. The Holy Ghost can guide us. Share a brief experience when you or someone else was guided by the Holy Ghost in making a decision. The Holy Ghost can protect us. Share a brief experience or when you or someone else was protected by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can comfort us. Share a brief experience or when you or someone else was comforted or given a feeling of peace through the Holy Ghost. By the power of the Holy Ghost, we may know the truth of all things. Share a brief personal experience when you knew something was true by the Holy Ghost. Song: The Holy Ghost. Teacher: This year we also spent a lot of time learning about the life of Jesus Christ and how we can be like him. Student 4: When Jesus was alive, he said Come Follow Me. I want to follow Jesus Christ s example. Student 5: I do too. When we serve others, we follow Jesus Christ s example and we also serve God. Student 1: Mosiah 2:17 says, When ye are in the service of your fellow being, ye are only in the service of your God. Song: Come Follow Me, Hymn 116. Jesus Christ taught us how to serve others through parables. In a few sentences, tell one of Jesus parables that teaches about service. Jesus also taught us how to serve others by example. In a few sentences, share an example from Christ s life when he gave service (such as washing the disciples feet). Jesus Christ always obeyed Heavenly Father. Share an example from Christ s life when he obeyed Heavenly Father (i.e. suffering for our sins). Jesus Christ s example teaches us how to live. Tell about something Jesus did that sets an example for you. Tell how you can follow that example. (i.e. Christ s baptism). When I serve my neighbours, I serve God. Tell about a time when you gave service to someone outside your own family.

5 Sunbeam teacher [bringing her whole class to the microphone] : When I serve my family, I serve God. I can serve my family by...[each child prepares something to say to complete the sentence.] Song: Tell Me the Stories of Jesus, p. 57. Teacher: Jesus truly set a perfect example for us to follow. What else was remarkable about his life? Student 2: Jesus Christ Is the Son of God, and He Is a God of Miracles Student 3: 2 Nephi 27:23 reads, For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles;... and I work not among the children of men, save it be according to their faith. Jesus Christ is a God of Miracles. Share the story of one of Christ s miracles (one that was not a healing or raising from the dead, since other children are sharing these ones). Jesus Christ can heal the sick. Share a story about when Jesus healed someone who was sick. Jesus Christ has power over death. Share a story about when Jesus raised someone from the dead. Miracles come to those who have faith. Very briefly tell the story of someone who experienced a miracle because of their faith. It could be scriptural or personal. Teacher: Why do we follow and obey Jesus Christ? Student 4: I obey Jesus Christ Because I Love Him Student 5: John 14:15 says, If ye love me, keep my commandments. I show love for Jesus Christ when I keep the commandments. My love for Jesus Christ grows when I pray.. My love for Jesus Christ grows when I study the scriptures. Teacher: It seems like from what we ve learned this year that Jesus Christ is central to everything we do in the church. Student 1: That s right. The Mission of the Church Is to Invite All to Come unto Christ. Student 2: Moroni 10:32 says, Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him. Song: The Church of Jesus Christ, p. 77.

6 We can help others come unto Christ by doing missionary work and family history and temple work. Share a personal example when you or someone you know helped someone else come unto Christ through temple work or missionary work. Teacher: Thank you class for reviewing with me what we have learned in primary this year. My testimony has really grown from what we learned. I feel like Joseph Smith who exclaimed, And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! Student 3: I know that Jesus Christ came to the earth as promised by the prophets. Student 4: I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. Student 5: I know that Jesus Christ will return to the earth someday. Student 1: I know that I can live with Jesus Christ again.
