1 Windmill First Presbyterian Church 800 Jefferson St. Kerrville TX (830) Congregational Meeting Today, June 21, 2015, following the 11:00 a.m. service for the purpose of dissolving the pastoral rela onship between the Rev. Eric Rhoda and FPC- Kerrville and if the way be clear to hear a report from the Officer Nomina ng Commi ee. Food Drive for CAM The theme for FPC s Mission Kerrville week this summer is Food for All God s People and will have par cipants learning all about food, nutri on, and health! One of our missions during the week will be delivering food to CAM and learning all about their role as a resource in our community. Here s where you come in! We need your help gathering up non-perishable food items for CAM. We have been collec ng them in the office this week and will have a collec on box in the narthex on Sunday, June 21. Ques ons? Contact Sam Baublit at (830) Celebrating our Country with Food and Fellowship Join us on Sunday, June 28 a er the 11:00 a.m. worship in the Family Life Center (FLC) Chicken will be provided. Please bring a cold side (without mayo, please) or dessert and drop it off before church in the FLC. Enjoy patrio c songs and music from our new Glory to God hymnal. See you then! Summer Choir Reminder Fourscore and seven s mores...oh sorry, I am ready for summer! Just a note to remind all that adult choir rehearsals will take a sabba cal in the summer months. That being said, ANYONE can sing in choir! Especially since there are no Wednesday rehearsals during the summer, join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the choir room. See you there! Ques ons? 2 New Hymnals You ll no ce that there are no hymnals in the sanctuary this weekend. A dedicated team of volunteers has taken the old hymnals out and will be placing the new ones this coming week. On behalf of the Worship Commi ee, thank you for your commitment to the music of our church. Would you like your very own hymnal to take home? The hymnals that were purchased are intended to stay here at church, but if you would like to purchase one to keep at home, please contact the church office at (830) and we will be happy to get one ordered for you. The cost is $20. If you have a Kindle reader, you are able to purchase an electronic version of the hymnal for your Kindle from amazon.com for $10. John Knox Ranch Camp is underway at John Knox Ranch and thanks to the commitment of our church, we are able to send a check for more than $8300 to JKR to help them clean up and rebuild from the floods that destroyed parts of camp on May 23. A few of our church families, the Baublits, Schlechtes, and Jones, went to help on the first day that there was access to camp, May 25. Another crew of youth and adults, pictured right, volunteered their me and clean up talents on June 3. Pictured with Kathy from JKR are Kent and Sara Bowers, Joyce and LeRoy Schlechte, Bethany Rodriguez, Will Lohmeyer, Vivian Priour, Bailey Havis, Christopher Jones, Stan Cobbs, and Caitlin Donohue. Thank you all for working so hard to take care of this vital ministry. You know...we have some church kiddos at camp this summer! And all camp kiddos LOVE mail! Zachary Jones will be there all summer working, and Braedon Schlechte, Aus n Lane, and Christopher Jones will be there through June 27. You can write them at 1661 John Knox Road, Fischer, Texas Do you know of other kids that will be at camp? Or are you a great at sending mail? We have other church kids at other camps! Contact the office for more informa on! ALL Church Family Picnic The 2015 All Church Family Picnic will be held on September 19 at Heart o the Hills Camp. Our thanks go to Jane Ragsdale and her family for allowing us to use their beau ful venue once again. Rich Vega, HOH Camp cook, will prepare BBQ brisket, chicken, and sausage. Fellowship Commi ee will provide drinks and all a endees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Camp opens at 2:00 p.m. for ac vi es, games and fun! Supper will be served at 5:00 p.m. followed by Old Time Singing. All are invited to volunteer their talents, whether it be singing solo or in a group, or playing a musical instrument. The rest of us will sing or clap along! If you have some special songs you would like to hear please let us know by ing Tim Wilborn at twilborn@fpckerrville.org or Helen Herd at hwherd@stx.rr.com. Programming will be centered around planning and crea ng a highenergy collabora ve and crea ve worship for Sunday morning. The retreat is ideal for families with children and the young at heart! This retreat offers opportuni es for fellowship with all as well as quiet reflec on me on Mo-Ranch s beau ful 500 acres. BBQ at the river on Saturday night. Special Event for kids 6th-12th grade! $140 per family or $70 per adult. Register by August 3 The church office and CCP will be closed on July 3 in observance of Independence Day. Seekers night out This year's trip to the theater will be to see The Pirates of Penzance at the Cailloux Theater. Performance is Friday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 As usual and for those who want, we will eat at Billy Gene's at 5:30 p.m. (dutch treat!) Please contact Cliff or Nickie Cunningham at (830) or RCCNLC@AOL.COM before July 20 to reserve your ckets. Tickets may be picked up at the restaurant or from Cliff or Nickie a er July 22. If you need a ride, let the Cunninghams know when you reserve your ckets. A few guest and/or visitors may also be accommodated.

4 It's summer vaca on me but Presbyterian Women ac vi es are taking place in the background. One important item at the present me is the crea on of the yearbook for the coming year. On the bulle n board in the area of Ryan Hall the Circles for next year are posted. Members are encouraged to look at the informa on and make any necessary correc ons. These pos ng will remain for two more weeks. Also on the summer agenda is the ordering of the Horizons study book for next year. Just as soon as the books arrive, a no ce will be posted as to the method of distribu on. It's a wonderful study! Council members, Circle Leaders and Circle Co-Leaders are encouraged to reserve Thursday, July 23 for a luncheon/workshop ac vity. More informa on will follow. Hopefully everyone is having a marvelous summer. Remember, if any ladies not already in PW are interested in joining, this is the me to call Marilyn Vordenbaum at (830) or Sara Hamilton at (830) All are welcome! Children s Corner Preschool s Parent-Teacher Organiza on (PTO) is accep ng dona ons for a rummage sale: furniture, nik naks, gently used clothing, etc. You can bring your dona ons to the CCP office and they will direct you where to drop them in the Family Life Center (FLC) gym. The sale will be July 11 from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 100% will benefit the Preschool. If weather allows it will be held outside the YES Center, behind the FLC.
