2 Jesus Teaches His Apostles Coloring Sheet All Ages And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him (Matthew 10:1-4). 10 God gave the apostles power to do miracles. Apostle means one sent. The apostles also served others who needed help, and they healed the sick to prove that their message was from God. Jesus told the apostles to teach others the Gospel. Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Matthew 28:18). 12 The apostles went everywhere teaching everyone who would listen. The apostles preached to soldiers, slaves, jailers, kings and governors. Because the apostles taught many people about Jesus, they were often treated badly. Some were tortured and killed. Two apostles (John, Peter) wrote books of the New Testament which were letters (epistles) to churches or individuals.
