John Clapham, vicar of Giggleswick. Mr Clapham has, it is said, bequeathed the sum of 4,000 a year to Thomas Clapham, of Potternewton, near Leeds, a gentleman who was no relative nor even an acquaintance of the deceased. Major Hare, and Abraham Clapham, Esq., two of your directors, and Mr. Robert Frost, one of your auditors retire by rotation at this meeting, and are all eligible and offer themselves for re-election. 1873: England and Wales Civil Registration Indexes Birth of Lilian Marie Sayer registered in Pancras, London, first quarter January 11: *York Herald Fatality to a Lunatic Patient at Acomb. On Friday evening Mr. Frederick Thomas Clapham, a patient in the Lime Tree House Asylum, at Acomb, came to a sudden death. The deceased, who was, somewhat addicted to liquor, had been in the city in i the afternoon, and returned in the evening somewhat the worse for the drink he bad taken. At about half- past six o'clock the fall of a body was heard by the attendants, and the deceased was directly after found laid on a landing at the foot of a flight of stairs. He expired about ten minutes afterwards. It is supposed that the deceased had been attacked with a fit of apoplexy, and then fell helplessly down the stairs. He was sixty-three years of age, and in good circum- stances. An inquest is to be held at Acomb to-day June 2: *York Herald SCARBOROUGH SANATORIUM AND MEDICAL BATH COMPANY (Limited). Incorporated under the Companies Acts, 1862 and 1867, by which ability of the Shareholders is limited to the amount of their Shares.
