People: That I belong body and soul, in life and in death not to myself, but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who at the cost of His own blood has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me from the dominion of the devil; that He protects me so well that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that everything must fit His purpose for my salvation. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and tell of Your power. Consecration (read or sing these words together) Please see the choir anthem text on page three and sing it to the familiar hymn Take My Life and Let It Be Consecrated. Hearing and Learning God s Word Scripture Reading 1 Peter 5.7 (one person read the Scripture aloud) Questions for Discussion (may be answered in one worship time or spread over several times) 1. What have you worried about this week? Why have you worried about it? 2. How do you know if you are anxious? Does your body tell you? Your thoughts? Your friends and family? 3. Why is it important that we name our fears instead of pretending they don t exist? 4. Can you imagine taking your anxieties and fears into your hands, and handing them over to God? What do you think God would do or say to you? (Hint: read Matthew ) 5. How does anxiety present an opportunity to be more closely connected with God? Scripture Memory for July (memorize this passage of Scripture this month) 1 Peter And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To Him be the dominion forever and ever.
