In 1863, bushwhackers came to their home and shot Robert Patton to death in the sight of Elijah Marion, who was 13 or 14 years old. He rode to the Confederate Headquarters and was assigned as messenger boy for Wheeler's Alabama Regiment until In the 1920's and early 1930's, he drew a pension for his service; and was doubted in some quarters because of his youth when serving. This was especially true when he lived intermittently in "Sweet Home" for Confederate veterans in Little Rock, Ark. And lived in a relative's home at intervals from about 1925 to his death in He lost his money in a bank failure in Danville, Ark. 2. NOTE: Boise Valley was among the first settled sections, as it was through it that the miners entered Boise basin. One of the earliest and best known citizens of Canyon Co. was Elijah Frost, who came to the valley in 1865 and later took up land near Caldwell, where he had large holdings. Mr. Frost crossed the plains five times as captain of emigrant trains and his experience in and knowledge of the west was extensive. He brought into the Boise Valley the first mowing machine. Large tracts of land were covered with the wild or native hay. This Mr. Frost cut and hauled to Idaho City, where he sold it for $100 per ton and sometimes even higher. i. (Frost), his first cousin who was 8 (he was 22) when he was living in their home in There was much ill feeling in Elijah Marion's family in this matter; his sons, especially, never forgave him. 2. Peach. 2. Joseph B. Frost b. 20 Jan TN.; d: 6 Apr Humbold co., CA.; married spouse 1: Mary Jane Hickey on 12 January 1847; married spouse 2: Deborah Oliver on 9 Sept (mother of Elijah M.; she died Feb. 18, 1923.) She was the daughter of John Wesley Oliver and Mahala Acord. Elijah M. Frost b. July 1850; d.19 February 1923; married spouse 1: Mary Ann Scott on 6 August they were later divorced. (Mary Ann died 10 April 1917). Again a divorce caused considerable ill feeling in the family. Elijah M. Frost was a much-respected attorney in Humboldt Co., Calif. for 55 years. Anna M. Frost, daughter of Elijah M. and Mary Ann (Scott) was b: 12 Feb. 1880; d: 19 Aug. 1963; married William Granville Van Deventer on 29 Nov ( he died 6 June 1938). June Van Deventer, daughter of William and Anna M., was b: 14 June 1928; married John Simmen on 3 Nov. 1950; they lived at Astos, Calif. one son 26 yrs. and the second 20 yrs. 2. Mary Adaline Frost b:17 Nov crossville, Cumberland co., TN. d: 2 Jan Crossville, Cumberland county, TN. married John Monroe Beatty Walker on 26 Jan in Cumberland county, TN. He was b: 14 Apr. 1832?TN. & d: 20 Dec.1910 in Crossville, Cumberland co.,tn. John was a blacksmith and wagon-maker, and had a shop at Howard's Spring on Frost Road near Crossville, Tenn. He was often forced to shoe horses and repair wagons without pay by both Union and Confederate forces.

General Frost b:1864 AR. The 1870 Missouri Census, Barry Co., Sugar Creek Township, found 13-year-old Sevier Hickey living with Uncle Sevier and second wife, Mollie R. Peach. Mollie as 19 (b. in Ohio). Mollie FROST was widowed at age 31 with six children and another on the way. The railroad was expanding south into Texas at that time, and by 1890 the family settled in Dennison, Texas, a bustling hub where the MKT Railroad called the Katy intersected with the Red River. Dennison was called The Gateway to Texas and Katy s Baby. Its proud founders built an opera house, a handsome brick public school and, at five stories, the tallest skyscraper in all of Texas. Main Street wasn t paved, but it was built wide to accommodate big plans. Mollie's sons went to work for the railroad. 2. White Frost b. 13 June 1837 Crossville, Cumberland co., TN.; d. 20 January 1908 White county, TN. He was a great mountain man fiddle-player and had a long white beard in later life. About 1855, he "outslicked" some city dudes from New York in a real estate deal. He lived in the Walker Hotel, run by his sister, Mary Adaline. White was in the confederate army, 1st. Lieut., co. A, 28th TN. Inf.

In Missouri Census 1870, Barry Co., Sugar Creek Township, Snow is shown as age 31, living in the home of his brother Winter; age 29, and wife Darthula, age 25 (b. in Missouri). Children: i. Sula Frost (A son) Thomas Simpson Frost, was born out of wedlock on 2 May 1859; Winter acknowledged the son and they were close. Thomas Simpson Frost was a political figure in Cassville, Barry Co., Mo. He was always well-dressed and neatly groomed, articulate and personable. He died 5 May 1937 Cassville, Barry co., MO. 2.
