2 AFTER THE PROBUS MEETING 2 After the Probus Meeting a number of people have been meeting at Kelsey s for lunch. All are welcome. MEMBERSHIP REPORT Betsy Rothwell - Membership Chair We had another good turn-out of members at the September meeting. At the October management meeting, the management team accepted the applications of 4 new members: - Lorna and Jim Popofski, sponsored by the Mallettes - Linda and Peter Schie, sponsored by the Flanagans We have 187 members at present. If you have friends who would like to join Probus, we have 13 openings, so this is a good time to apply. The application form is on the Probus of Huntsville website - under the Contact Us tab. Please don t forget to look for the red dot on name tags of our new members, and take a moment to introduce you and welcome them to our club. Management Committee members will have a green dot on their badge. Badges for new members can be picked up from the desk at the door Membership Fees are now due. The annual fee is $40.00 per person. Please note I will be away until Nov 7 so will not reply to any until I return from China). Wine Appreciation The final all group WINE OFF will be Nov 7. Bob Mallette was the wine taster of the month. Our favourite red wine for 2014 is Promised Land Cabernet Sauvignon from South Australia. The next get-together of the Probus Photo Group will be at Ken and Barb will be hosting at their Huntsville Condo Dairy Lane, Suite 101. Our theme will be "Fall Highlights -- Shades, Shapes & Patterns!" So let's get out and capture whatever catches our eye in this the most colorful season of our Muskoka year! 6 Our second outing to Arrowhon Pines was an event enjoyed by all. The day was wonderful and the meal was delightful. Some of us enjoyed a boat ride on the lake, while others played a spirited game of tennis. All of us enjoyed the warmth of the wood fire in the center of the magnificent timber dining room. 6

October November Diane and Bernie Burley Tickets for Probus Events are sold between: 9:15 9:55 a.m. and also at coffee break until 10:55 a.m. You can pay for these events by cash or cheques. (Separate cheques for each event). We cannot accept post- dated cheques. We will reimburse money paid for an event due to cancellation by the member to the extent that there is no cost to the club. We encourage members to organize events (such as lunches, trips, etc.), but due to insurance reasons all events must be cleared through the events chair(s) and approved by the Management Team before members can be contacted or tickets can be sold at meetings. Members organizing events may contact John McCaig at globalskate@sympatico.ca with details of the luncheon /event and he will print the tickets for you if you wish. Please allow 14 days prior to required date. Probus Huntsville Web Site and Newsletter Over the next few months you will see some changes to the newsletter. We are hoping to include pictures of events and other information of interest to our members. Ultimately the newsletter will migrate to our website.
