Funeral Service for Alvin Megail Bartlett will be held on Friday April 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Heritage Cemetery in Algood. Alvin Megail Bartlett was born April 3, 1962 to Odessa League and Leonard W. Roberts. He departed this life March 25, 2011 in Nashville TN, after an extended illness. Alvin was born in Cookeville TN, and attended schools in Algood, until he began working at various jobs. His mainline work was truck driving until his health began to fail. Alvin went to the home of his aunt, Anne, as he called her concerned about his soul. After the word being presented to him, he then prayed and asked Jesus to come into his heart and forgive him of his sins and to be his Lord, the year being He was later baptized and somewhat attended - Pentecostal COGIC 3rd Ave Nashville. Alvin was preceded in death by his mother and father Odessa Bartlett League and Leonard W. Roberts. His grandparents Eliza Bartlett (Willie) Maddux, Russell Copeland, two aunts; Mary Cummings of Lebanon TN and Anne Johnson of Louisville KY. One uncle Wallace Bartlett. He leaves behind five brothers and one sister to celebrate his life; Robby and Roxanne League, (twins) Leonard, Victor and Bill Roberts, Greg McMurray and a devoted friend for many years Benita Bass, stepfather Robby J. League of Cookeville, two uncles; Willie Maddux and Kenneth Johnson, two aunts; Victoria (James) Gist and Mechille Savage of Algood. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. ALGOOD Funeral services for Isaac Herbert Bohanon, 94, of Algood, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, from the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Algood Heritage Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Friday, July 31, and from noon until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Bohanon departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, in Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Putnam County to the late Isaac Taylor and Elizabeth Marchbanks Bohanon. Mr. Bohanon was a lifelong Methodist and a faithful member of Wright s Chapel United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Bohanon received his education in Putnam County at Algood Elementary School and Darwin High School in Cookeville. He received his B.S. and Master's Degree in education from Tennessee State University. He was a retired Putnam County educator, teaching at the former Darwin High School and Central High School for more than 32 years. He was a member of the Putnam County and Tennessee Retired Teacher's Association. His family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Brenda Bohanon of Sparta; two grandchildren, Bradford Bohanon of Cookeville and Danette and her husband Gary Gardenhire Jr. of Sparta; four greatgrandchildren, Isaiah, Madison and Jeremiah Gardenhire, all of Sparta, and Dyllon Bohanon of Lebanon; two sisters-in-law, Birdie Bailey and Frances Coggins, both of Lebanon; a cousin, Paul Marchbanks of Knoxville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who were very supportive through this time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 61 years, Amanda Beatrice Bailey Bohanon; four brothers, Joe Claude, Bill, Cordell and Jim Bohanon; and three sisters, Ruby Johnson, Martha Stone and Della Osborne. Bro Van Hardin will officiate and burial will be at Algood Heritage Cemetery. Mrs. Buck died Thursday, May 8, 1986 at Cookeville General Hospital after a short illness. A native of Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John Barlow and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Roberts. Mrs. Buck was a member of the McClellan Church of Christ and a homemaker. Her family includes her husband, Shirley Buck; three sons, Taft Western Jr, John William Western and Albert Ray Western, all of Cookeville; three daughters, Mary Jane Johnson and Katie Sampler, both of

Mr. Carr died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Deberry Correctional Institute in Nashville. He was born April 27, 1948, in Cookeville to the late Johnny A. B. and Naomi Hale Carr. Mr. Carr was a former computer analyst with the McCord-Winn Company. He also loved all sports and was an avid baseball fan. He was of the Methodist faith. His family includes three daughters, Patricia Wheeler of Knoxville, Carla Carr of Nashville and Leslie Carr Harris of Cookeville; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Shellie Ferguson of Lake Worth, FL; his brother, Bill Carr of Algood; his half-sister, Emily Carr of Nashville; his half-brother, Allon Carr of Cookeville; seven grand-children; and one greatgranddaughter. Billy was born November 12, 1949 in Putnam County, TN to the late A. B. Carr and Naomi Hale Carr. He was a 1968 graduate of Putnam County Senior High School and also later attended Tennessee Tech University. He was a member of the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam era. He was employed for over 30 years at Fleetguard and was a supervisor.

6 He was a member of St. Michael s Episcopal Church. He served as a counselor for over 20 years with numerous organizations, helping people with drug and alcohol addiction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Lee (Bobby) Carr. He is survived by devoted ex wife, Donna Sue Carr; daughters, Alicia and husband Jamie Hayes of Sparta; Sonya Carver of Detroit, MI; son, William Cody Carr of Algood; grandchildren, Kita Carr, Javaun Hayes and Zachary Hayes; mother, Barbara Carr; sisters, Emmaly and husband Jahi Rohrer of Denver, CO and Linda Carr of Boynton Beach, FL; brother, Allon and wife Nikki Carr; and by his devoted uncle and aunt, Charles and Mae Carr; 4 nieces, 5 great nieces, 1 great-great niece, five nephews, four aunts, and a host of cousins and friends. He also leaves behind a dear man he thinks of as a son, David D. Culley and a dedicated friend Roscoe Mayberry. He was born June 11, 1950, in Cookeville to Nina Ann Mullins Carver and the late Isaac P. Carver. Mr. Carver served in the Army as a Sp4 E-4 during the Vietnam War, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and also attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He last worked as an assembly technician at the Bradmark Corp. Mr. Carver was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his mother, his family includes two sons, Tyrone L. and Danny Ricco Carver, both of Cookeville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Carver Garrett and Sarah and Robert Dawson, all of Cookeville, and Sandra Jane Hancock of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Ricardo Carver of Cookeville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and numerous friends. Mrs. Carver was a member of Rollings Chapel Presbyterian Church and Trinity Baptist Church. She worked as a caretaker at Cookeville Nursing Home as a CAN for many years before retiring. After her retirement, she provided care for the Glenn and Carol Wood family. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family includes three daughters and a son-in-law, Mildred Carver Garrett and Sarah A. and Robert Dawson, all of Cookeville, and Sandra J. Hancock of Detroit, MI; a son, Ricardo Carver of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, Sonya, Michele, Tyrone, Nicholas, Nina, Ricco, Kallie and Christopher; nine greatgrandchildren, Amanda, Cortez, Desmond, Solon, Mia, Maleeya, Ziyanna, Chris Jr. and Skylar; three sisters, Dorothy Mullins and Elizabeth Bohannon both of Algood, and Eddie Mae Smith of Cookeville; a godson, Michael White of NY; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Peake Carver; and infant daughter, Peggy Ann Carver; a son, Lon Danny Carver; five sisters, Maggie Smith, Irene Irby, Verbie Lee Mullins, Roberta West and Frances Apple; and four brothers, Frank, Johnny, George and Grant Mullins. 11 Mr. Dowell departed this life on Friday morning, Feb. 10, 2017, at Signature HealthCARE of Putnam County in Algood. He was born March 30, 1930, in Alexandria, Tenn., to the late James Moore and Inez Sadler. Mr. Dowell was a graduate of Darwin High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Cordell worked as a cook at Tennessee Tech for several years. He also worked at Rose s Department Store and also as a nurse s aid at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He had a passion for collecting and building model airplanes. Burial will follow in Heritage Cemetery in Algood. Mrs. Webb expired Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was born April 5, 1928, in Smith County to the late Archie Winfree and Daisy Peake Winfree. Mrs. Webb was a retired employee of McFarland Hospital in Lebanon. She was a native of Wilson County. She was a member of Cedars of Lebanon Baptist Church and Church Mother for many years until failing health. In her family circle, she loved to cherish her memories with five nieces and two nephews and devoted cousins of Cookeville, Algood and Lebanon, and other relatives and friends.
