He imparted earthly blessings, that He might incline the hearts f men t receive the gspel f His grace. Christ might have ccupied the highest place amng the teachers f the Jewish natin, but He preferred rather t take the gspel t the pr. He went frm place t place, that thse in the highways and byways might hear the wrds f truth. By the sea, n the muntainside, in the streets f the city, in the synaggue, His vice was heard explaining the Scriptures. The simplicity and earnestness with which He addressed the needy, hallwed every wrd. What a busy life He led! Day by day He might have been seen entering the humble abdes f want and srrw, speaking hpe t the dwncast and peace t the distressed. Gracius, tenderhearted, pitiful, He went abut lifting up the bwed-dwn and cmfrting the srrwful. Wherever He went, He carried blessing. He slept with them under their rfs, ate with them at their tables,--partaking f the fd prepared and served by their hands,--taught in their streets, and treated them with the utmst kindness and curtesy. The miracle had been wrught upn the Sabbath, and fr fear f the rabbis the peple dared nt cme fr healing until the sun was set. The sick were brught upn litters, they came leaning upn staffs, r, supprted by friends, they tttered feebly int the Saviur's presence. In the excitement which then pervaded Capernaum there was danger that the bject f His missin wuld be lst sight f. Yahushua was nt satisfied t attract attentin t Himself merely as a wnder-wrker r as a healer f physical disease. He was seeking t draw men t Him as their Saviur. While the peple were eager t believe that He had cme as a king t establish an earthly reign, He desired t turn their minds frm the earthly t the spiritual. Mere wrldly success wuld interfere with His wrk. And the wnder f the careless crwd jarred upn His spirits. N self-assertin mingled with His life. 11 The Pharisees sught distinctin by their scrupulus ceremnialism and the stentatin f their wrship and their charities. They prved their zeal fr religin by making it the theme f discussin. Disputes between ppsing sects were lud and lng, and it was nt unusual t hear n the streets the vice f angry cntrversy frm learned dctrs f the law. In marked cntrast t all this was the life f Yahushua. In that life n nisy disputatin, n stentatius wrship, n act t gain applause, was ever witnessed. Christ was hid in Yahuwah, and Yahuwah was revealed in the character f His Sn. T this revelatin Yahushua desired the minds f the peple t be directed. The Sun f Righteusness did nt burst upn the wrld in splendr, t dazzle the senses with His glry. It is written f Christ, "His ging frth is prepared as the mrning." Hsea 6:3. Quietly and gently the daylight breaks upn the earth, dispelling the darkness and waking the wrld t life. S did the Sun f Righteusness arise, "with healing in His wings." Malachi 4:2. Isaiah 61:1, 2. Yahushua f Nazareth was the Prmised One. The evidence f His divinity was seen in His ministry t the needs f suffering humanity. His glry was shwn in His cndescensin t ur lw estate. The wrks f Christ nt nly declared Him t be the Messiah, but shwed in what manner His kingdm was t be established. T Jhn was pened the same truth that had cme t Elijah in the desert, when "a great and strng wind rent the muntains, and brake in pieces the rcks befre Yahuwah; but Yahuwah was nt in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but Yahuwah was nt in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but Yahuwah was nt in the fire:" and after the fire, Yahuwah spke t the prphet by a still, small vice. 1 Kings 19:11, 12. When the mthers came desiring Him t bless their little nes, the disciples lked n them with disfavr. They thught these children t yung t be benefited by a visit t Yahushua, and cncluded that He wuld be displeased at their presence. Many parents d nt understand hw much they are respnsible fr these traits in their children. They have nt the tenderness and wisdm t deal with the erring nes whm they have made what they are. But Yahushua lks upn these children with pity. He traces frm cause t effect. The Christian wrker may be Christ's agent in drawing these faulty and erring nes t the Saviur.
