Reichert (740) God s Sake Do Something Many years ago Father Harwick gave me a banner that read For God s Sake Do Something. At first I thought it to be a little blasphemous, but reflecting and pondering over it; it s really what the call of the Gospel is about. Every Thursday afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., a member of the Parish family, including several fellow Knights of Columbus members, picks me up to go and visit our sick, shut-in, hospitalized and or lonely people. We re supposed to return by 9:00 p.m. but oft times it is 10:000-10:30 p.m., but we re trying. Today as I write this article I m also preparing a funeral sermon for Monday at 11:00 a.m. The funeral is for a dear friend who just turned 90. She fell and broke a hip two weeks ago. In her good hip, she s also been battling bone cancer. She was a delightful lady, to say the least. She has a wonderful family especially her two daughters who took great care of their dear mother. One of the chores she d give the girls was to make sure the coffee table had hard candy and M &M s for Father and Father s driver. After her fall, Helen Elaine was taken to a rehab center in Westerville. We went over to give her the Anointing of the Sick. While we were there, she opened the drawer in the tiny room and said You better take some candy in fact this time you better just take the whole bag The very next day the Dear Lord called her to His side. Every Thursday, we d visit this dear lady. As we d get ready to leave she d always say, You made my day and we d respond you made our day also. June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and I m encouraging all who read this article to go out in the name of Christ and make someone s day. In other words, For God s Sake Do Something I guarantee 98% of the time; your day will be made! Much love and prayers, P.S. Please keep this dear soul, Helen Elaine Ulichney and her family in your prayers. It s going to take a number of Thursdayss to realize she s gone home to the Lord.

I just wanted to give you a quick update on Tony s statuss and progress. Yesterday 5/28/08 he was moved to: Select Specialty Hospital, 1087 Dennison Ave, Cols Special care unit. This is a facility thatt specializes in respiratory and rehab. He is breathing on his own during the day. He has gained sensationn in his fingers and thigh, but no movement yet. They will be working extensively with him on thesee issues. They are able to put in a plug that allows him to talk and take in oxygen at the same time, yet is it still difficult. These may seem like tiny steps, but they are very encouraging all the same and a step in the right direction. We are excited. We would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. A directive may be changed at any time. Flag Pole Memorial The Monsignor J. Colby Grimes Assembly Knights of Columbus has established a flag pole memorial to honor deceased members of the Assembly. The memorial is located at the Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. As a Sir Knight in good standing at the time of your death you may request your name on a plaque at the Memorial. Thank you for all that attended the Memorial Mass this year. The cost of the Memorial Plaque is presently $ To avoid decisions by your family at the time of your death you may pre-pay. To assist the Monsignor J.
