We began the Easter celebration last weekend; the Easter season will last for many weeks to come...a great amount of time to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus! I thank those who helped to make the Great Easter Vigil and Sunday Masses so special: the parishioners and guests; the choir and instrumentalists, the decorating committee; St. Martha s Circle; the Altar servers, Ushers, Lectors, and Eucharistic Ministers. Everything went smoothly and it was a truly spirit-filled and moving experience. It is due to the participation of so many people that we at Blessed Sacrament are able to do what we do: celebrate Jesus! There are many people of our parish who will be celebrating the Sacraments for the first time during the Easter season; specifically, we celebrate 42 First Communions over these two weeks. 4 3 APRIL 2016 FOR HEALING AFTER ABORTION, a Rachel s Vineyard Retreat will be held 8-10 April, at Shalom House Retreat Center in Montpelier, Virginia, for women and men who have known regret, sorrow, guilt, or shame from abortion. The weekend combines living scripture meditations, spiritual exercises, and discussions in a guided process that leads to the heart of God s love and compassion.
