5 THE NEW COVENANT rests upon the sacrifice of Christ (Matt 26:28; Cor. :25) and secures the eternal blessedness under the Abrahamic Covenant (Gal. 3:3-29; Phil. 2:8) of all who believe, It is absolutely unconditional and since no responsibility is by it committed to man it is final and irreversible. The New Covenant is effected by God out of His loving Grace and is available by faith in the completed work of Christ on the cross, it is a personal relationship of knowing God through the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit in the new and regenerated (created) inner man, it is an operation by the Spirit that frees the believer from sin, it works powerfully to strengthen believers through the Truth or Revelation of the Word, it includes reception of a new man or new nature and it is maintained in the believer by acknowledging our sure hope in Christ s coming and life everlasting with God.

6 THE NEW COVENANT grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:6 A. Efficaciously (not morally) better than the Mosaic Cov. [Heb. 7:9; Rom 8:-4). B. Established on better promises. (Mosaic if ye will Ex 9:5; New Cov. I will. Heb. 8:0,2). C. Obedience springs from love - a willing heart & mind. Under the Mosaic Cov. obedience sprang from fear. (Heb. 2:2; 8:0; 2:2, 25-27; Peter 4:6). D. Secures that which is well pleasing in His sight ( Tim. :4; 2 Tim 2:-7; Heb. 8:; 3:2) E. Provides pardon for all the believer s sin. (Heb. 8:2; 0:3, 7). F. Rests upon an accomplished redemption (Mt, 26:27-28; Cor :25; Heb. 9:, 2, 8-23 G. Guarantees Israel s perpetuity, prophetic conversion, & Kingdom blessing (Jer. 3:3-40; 2 Sam 7:8-7)

9 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people

10 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for THEY SHALL ALL KNOW ME, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more (Jer. 3:3-34)

11 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he (Christ) shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land

12 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness. For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want (lack)a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel (Jer. 33:5-7)

13 I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David... Behold nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel (Christ); for he hath glorified thee (Isa.55:3-5).

14 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever -Isa.59:20-2.

15 I will make an everlasting covenant with them. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed Isa.6:8-9.

16 I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant. Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD Ezek.6:60-62

17 And I the LORD will be their God And I will make with them a covenant of peace And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD Ezek.34:24-27

18 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore Ezek.37:26-28.

19 24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. 25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT WITHIN YOU; I WILL TAKE THE HEART OF STONE OUT OF YOUR FLESH AND GIVE YOU A HEART OF FLESH. 27 I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT WITHIN YOU AND CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND YOU WILL KEEP MY JUDGMENTS AND DO THEM. 28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. 29 I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. Ezek.36:25-27.

22 Romeine leer ons dat:. Israel is die Olyfboom en sommige van die takke is afgebreek. 2. Heidense gelowiges is n wilde olyftak ingeënt (tydelik) in die Olyfboom in die plek van Israel. 3. Die Kerk is deelnemers wortel en vettigheid van die olyfboom die geestelike seëninge van die Nuwe verbond.

23 Die WORTEL is UIT SIG UIT Die VETTIGHEID is UIT SIG UIT Die Materiële Seëninge van die Nuwe Verbond is NIE ingesluit vir die Kerk nie

24 Romeine leer ons: Rom :25-26 Want ek wil nie hê, broeders, dat julle hierdie verborgenheid nie moet weet nie, sodat julle nie eiewys mag wees nie: dat die verharding ten dele oor Israel gekom het totdat die volheid van die heidene ingegaan het; (26) en so sal die hele Israel gered word, soos geskrywe is: Die Verlosser sal uit Sion kom en sal die goddelooshede van Jakob afwend;

26 Die Kerk se seën: Eph :3 Geseënd is die God en Vader van onse Here Jesus Christus wat ons geseën het met alle geestelike seëninge in die hemele in Christus, Php 3:20 Want ons burgerskap is in die hemele, van waar ons ook as Verlosser verwag die Here Jesus Christus,

27 2Kor 3:3-6 omdat julle duidelik n brief van Christus is deur ons diens berei, geskrywe nie met ink nie, maar met die Gees van die lewende God; nie op kliptafels nie, maar op die vleestafels van die hart. (4) So n vertroue het ons deur Christus by God. (5) Nie dat ons uit onsself bekwaam is om iets as uit onsself te bedink nie, maar ons bekwaamheid is uit God, (6) wat ons ook bekwaam gemaak het as dienaars van n nuwe testament, nie van die letter nie, maar van die gees; want die letter maak dood, maar die gees maak lewend.

28 Opsomming van die Nuwe Verbond. Die Inwoning van die Gees. 2. God se Wet in ons Harte. 3. Die Kerk is n wilde olyftak, wat deel kry aan die geestelike seëninge alleenlik. 4. Israel sal geestelike en fisiese seëninge verkry in die vestiging Vrederyk Koninkryk.
