1 200 VERSES Workman Ministries 200+ Verses to Help You Recognize the True Gospel Recognizing that many additions have been made to the Gospel over the years, I have collected what I believe to be a fairly extensive list of those verses that refer directly or indirectly (but plainly at least to anyone with a modicum of study background) to God s plan for salvation. The list will show conclusively that: The plan of salvation is the same now as at all times in the past. [That is, people in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament were saved the same way that you are today. The only difference is that you now have more details.] The Gospel has never included things like, Ask Jesus into your heart, Make Jesus your Lord and Master, Now pray the Sinner s prayer, or any of a host of other blatantly false add-ons. The true Gospel can be readily recognized by the verbs employed. They will include faith, belief, and trust. Outside of those few verbs, you are most likely dealing with an add-on. So, here goes 1. [Gen 15:6] And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. 2. [Rth 2:12] The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. 3. [Gal 2:16] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified [Gal 3:2] This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 193. [Gal 3:5] He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 194. [Gal 3:6-7] Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham [Gal 3:8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed [Gal 3:9] So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham [Gal 3:11] But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith [Gal 3:14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith [Gal 3:22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 15 200. [Gal 3:24-25] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [Heb 4:2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it [Heb 4:3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world [Heb 10:38] Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him [Heb 10:39] But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul [Heb 11:6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him [Heb 11:7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith [Heb 11:11] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised [Jam 2:23] And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God [1Pe 1:5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time [1Pe 1:9] Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls [1Pe 2:6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded [1Jo 3:23] And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment [1Jo 5:1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him [1Jo 5:4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 17 229. [1Jo 5:5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 230. [1Jo 5:15] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son [1Jo 5:13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God [Jud 1:5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
