2 2010 Holy Convocation July 12-17, 2010 California District Council 73 rd Annual Conference (Torrance Marriott) With a humble and grateful heart, I honor my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To the influential Resident Bishops, Suffragan Bishops, District Elders, Pastors, Delegates, and Guests, I welcome you to this sacred 73 rd Annual California District Council our Holy Convocation! Many of us have heeded to the decree of fasting and prayer prior to this gathering, as the signs of the times are upon us with a loud cry to gather together the elders for an ecclesial movement. One of which we are anticipating an outpouring of the Holy Ghost... Fresh Wind as we Assemble for Greatness! It is a time of repentance, praise, worship, and celebration unto the Lord. This will not be business as usual, for our theme scriptures declares, And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days (Num 29:12) and Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD (Joel 1:14). I admonish everyone to set aside our excuses, our idiosyncrasies, and our neglect of God s worship. Instead, let us line-up and get in position to receive what God has for us during this Holy Convocation! In conclusion, I extend a heart-felt thank you to those who worked diligently along with me and to those who caught the vision and moved with compassion to bring it to pass For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love. (Hebrews 6:10). In The Master s Service, Bishop Henry L. Johnson, D.L., D.D. Diocesan 16 th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. 2
3 California District Council July 12-17, Holy Convocation To the Honorable Diocesan Bishop Henry L. Johnson, Executive Board Members, Council Officials and all Delegates; "Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." - Philippians 1:6 Blessings, glory and honor to our Great God and Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ! And welcome and greetings to you as we embark upon a full week of "Fresh Wind" Holy Convocational spiritual excursions during our 73rd Annual California District Council Conference, here in the beautiful city of Torrance California. It is indeed a pleasure to convene, commune, and worship our Father in spirit and truth; participating in the fulfillment of His dream for us, the members of His body, becoming one. With this dream in mind, this year s conference has been tailored into a format and style conducive to what is labeled as a "Holy Convocation" Old Testament time of interaction and fellowship. Be it known by all and reflected in the record that, as your "Servant Chairman", it is certainly my desire to ensure that we all collectively enjoy the benefits of implementing this unique design which shall edify and enhance our time together; allowing us to continue our pursuit of holy excellence in our homes, communities and churches. So I urge you to actively take advantage of all that our program has to offer and share the love of Christ in so doing. Oh by the way, if I can be of any professional assistance to you in regard to enhancing your visitation to this most auspicious occasion, stop by the "Situation Room" and let me know. In pursuit of His favor, Dr. Robert T. Douglas, Sr. Chairman 3
