If you would like more information, please contact us at INTRODUCTION Diaries, correspondence, account books, genealogical records, and personal and business papers of Mary Aileen Davidson and her ancestors. John B. Helm letters and diaries, Ben N. Crump letters, and J. Frank Davidson papers show social and economic life in Kentucky and Missouri. DONOR INFORMATION The papers were donated to the State Historical Society of Missouri by Mrs. Don Faurot in November 1971(Accession No. 900). An addition was made on 20 March 2001 By Mary Faurot (Accession No. 5869) and subsequent additions were made by Jane Faurot Hazell in 2006, 2010 and 2014 (Accession No , and ). BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH John B. Helm was born in Marion County, Kentucky, in He was a merchant in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where he married his cousin, Jane Helm, after which they moved to Bowling Green where he was a lawyer, postmaster and state commissioner of internal improvement. After the death of his first wife in 1840, he married Mary A. Crump Pollard, a sister of B.B. and B. N. Crump of Glasgow, Kentucky. They moved to Hannibal, Missouri, in 1852, where he practiced law, was a director in the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad, dealt extensively in real estate and built many buildings in Hannibal. He died in Hannibal in James Frank Davidson was born in Woodford County, Illinois, in He moved to Hannibal in 1881 where he was in the stock breeding business and real estate. He married Mary Ann Helm, a daughter of John B. Helm. He was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from Marion County in 1891, 1893, 1895 and Mary Aileen Davidson was born in 1886, the only daughter of James Frank Davidson and Mary Ann Helm Davidson.
