DONOR INFORMATION The papers were donated to the State Historical Society of Missouri by George Heslar and Mary Longstreth for the Missouri East Conference, United Methodist Church on 4 May 1973 (Accession No. 1006), 7 February 1974 (Accession No. 1057), and 17 November 1975 (Accession No. 1172). An addition was donated by Mrs. Tudor Westover on 13 June 1977 (Accession No. 2086) SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The papers have been arranged into the following twenty-three series: Jacob Lanius Papers; Addison L. FOLDER LIST Jacob Lanius Papers Series Jacob Lanius, a native Virginia, began his ministry in Missouri in 1831, serving churches in Bowling Green, St. Charles, Paris, Richmond, Palmyra, and other towns. He kept a diary which has been edited by Theodore H. Wolff, a retired Methodist minister of Gerald, Missouri. f. 1-3 Journal of Jacob Lanius, f Letters to Jacob Lanius from Methodist Church leaders, Addison L. Brewer Papers Series Addison L. Brewer, Methodist minister, married Juliet Lanius, daughter of Jacob Lanius. The Brewers spent many years in Kirksville, Missouri, and their later years in Pasadena, California. Rev. Theodore H. Wolff wrote a paper on the life of Brewer.
