2 "Gone from our sight, but never our memories... Gone from our touch, but never our hearts" A Christian life ended, June 30, 2004, when Fannie Ruth Williams Dixon was selected by God to come home. She was a native of Elberton, Georgia, born to the parents, the late Mr. George Esrkine Williams, Sr. and Fannie Elizabeth Harper Williams. Fannie Ruth was the seventh of eight children. From childhood she attended the St. Mary C.M.E. Church and the Elberton High School from which she graduated in She was a boarding student at Paine College for 4 years from which she graduated. She was married to the late Ernest MarionX/ Dixon and is the mother of two daughters, the grandmother of three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She joined the Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church and sung with the Senior Choir. She loved music and singing with the Senior Choir. She loved the song, "Order My Steps." She was employed by the Richmond County Board of Education. She taught at the Lucy Craft Laney High School and retired from the Augustus R. Johnson High School after teaching for 30 years. She held lifetime memberships in the RCRTA and the Georgia Retired Teachers Asso ciation. She loved her family and the church. She loved people and travelling and said she would until the day she dies. Her memories are cherished by: two devoted and loving daughters, Ruthalia Riley (Wilford) and Ernestine Williams, Augusta, GA; one brother, John Price Williams (Sheffey), Chicago, IL; one grandson, Sean Williams; two granddaughters, Danielle Riley and Genai Jones, all of Augusta, GA; two great-grandchildren, Rufus (Sweet Pea) Jones IV and Alexis Rickelle Brown, all of Au gusta, GA; godchildren and a host of relatives and friends who she loved dearly.

3 I m Free Don t grieve for me, for now I m free I m following the path God has laid for me. I took His hand when 1 heard Him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play, Tasks left undone must stay that way I found peace at the end of the day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things 1 too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, My life s been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don t lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your hearts, and share with me, God wanted me NOW, He has set me free.

5 A Message To My Family and Friends I am gone now release me, let me go I have so many things to see and do. You mustn t tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it s time I travel alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let grief be comforted by trust. It s only for a while that we must be apart. So keep the memories within your heart. I won t be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come... Though you cannot see me or touch me, I ll be near and if you listen with your heart You ll hear all of my love around you soft and clear - And then, when you must come this way alone I ll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home"
