Height 6 ft, Black Hair, Blue eyes, dark complection. She further states that she was married to the said Linchfield Wimberly at the city (or town) of [Dunlap], in the County of Sequatchie, and in the State of Tennessee, on the 12th day of October, A.D. 1868, by one (10) F. M. McDonough, who was a (11) Justice of the Peace And that her name before her said marriage was Matilda Land; and she further states she and her husband had both been previously married. That the name of her first husband was Thomas Land. And that he died near Looney's Creek, P.O. in Marion County, Tennesse, on the 10th day of May, 1841, And that the maiden name of her husband's first wife was Diadama Lasater, and 2
3 that she died in Sequatchie County, Tenn. on the 5th day of October And that her said husband (13) Linchfield Wimberly, died at Sequatchie County, in the State of Tennessee, on the 15th day of December, A.D. 1875; And she further declares that the following have been the places of residence of herself and her said husband since the date of his discharge from the Army, viz: (14) Near Dunlap in Sequatchie County, State of Tennessee. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the pension to which she may be entitled under the provisions of Section 4736 to 4740 inclusive Revised Statues, and the Act of march 9, 1878, and herby constitutes and appoints with full powers of subsitution and revocation T. E. & B. F. Lloyd, of Washington D.C., her true and lawful attorney, to prosecute her claim, and she further declares that she has heretofore made no application of (15) bounty lands or pensions.
