The Shepherd s Center of Greater Winston-Salem needs teams of workers to help older adults with yard clean-up, leaf-raking, trimming bushes, etc. This is an ongoing need, but fall is the time when many requests come in. Teams of 4-10 adults, or youth with adult supervision are ideal. To learn more about opportunities, call and speak with Drea Parker or Linda Lewis. METHODIST MEN S FALL GOLF TOURNAMENT! Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Winston Lakes Golf Course Entry fee: $60 per player (golf and lunch included); hole sponsorship: $50 (includes hole signage). Registration: 12 noon; 1 pm shotgun start. Proceeds to go toward various Methodist Men s projects. Please contact Chris Sonafrank, or casonafrank@aol.com, for registration, hole sponsorship opportunities, or if you re interested in providing door prizes or items to put in the players goodie bags (i.e. coupons, business cards, etc.). 5 TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR CAROL COXE: Carol needs assistance with getting to and from church services while her children are out of town for an extended period in October. This involves driving to Carol's house, helping her in and out of the car, and loading/unloading her wheelchair. She is flexible on attending the 8:30 or 11:00 service or Sunday School. If you are available on ANY of these dates, or would like more information before making a decision, please contact Mitzi Swing or Carol Coxe using the following contact information. Help is needed on October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1. (Sunshine or rain, the picnic will happen!) Feel free to bring yard chairs and/or blankets as we may overflow the shelter. Dinner will be ready at 5:30 pm. Come early at 4:30 pm if you would like to play games. The youth are planning our games, so they will be great! Hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, drinks, and paper goods will be provided. Please bring side dishes or desserts. Also, please let us know if you re coming, so we will have enough hamburgers and hot dogs. I/We will be attending the church-wide picnic on Sunday, October 11. Name At the New Beginning Service on Sunday, October 11, Laura Calhoun, a contemporary music vocalist, will be worshiping with us. Laura lives in Winston-Salem and is a member at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Come and join us as she shares her talent and witness through song. Number attending "COVENANT" dates: The first of three 8 week segments of " Covenant" will begin on Tues., Oct. 6, and end on Nov. 24 in the "Pathways" group. The dates are Sun., Oct. 11, thru Nov. 29 for "The Journey" group. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Please note that "Covenant" is a 24 week program and it is preferred that participants sign up for the full duration (ends in May 2016). There will be breaks between the 3 segments. Leader: Ivan Peden WEDNESDAY NIGHT POT-LUCK SUPPER: Come join your church family on October 7 for our monthly Wednesday Night Pot-Luck Supper at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
