1 in this issue >>> July 4 th Fun Book Club News Covenant Changes Neighborhood Graduates Summer 2018 Lake Lorman News 4 th of July Festivities Fun was had by all on the 4th at the Lake Lorman clubhouse. The boat parade was so fun for everyone to watch as well as participate in. Winners of the boat parade Warriner 1 st, Robertson 2 nd, Herring 3 rd. The food was great, although we did run low due to a successful turnout. Thanks to all the Lake Lorman bakers for the yummy desserts. The children had lots of fun on the water slide (as did a few parents!). A big thanks to Tommy Draughn and Tony Huffman for the wonderful fireworks display to end the day. The winner of the beautiful painting by Kay Watts was Chris and Lisa Roberts. Thank you Kay for donating half the proceeds to help with clubhouse improvements. 2 The Lake Lorman Book Club The Lake Lorman book club meets at the clubhouse at 6pm on the first Monday of each month. The September the book is My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsellsa. Our October pick is The Good Earth by Pearl Buck. Please join us! Changes to the Lake Lorman Covenants From time to time, the Board hears that some of the Covenants are out of date or too restrictive. Most often, this is as the Board receives building requests for boathouses and additions to homes. The Board cannot waive or change Covenants rather we are charged with enforcement of the current covenants. Covenants are our Law as regards our Lake. Only you, the Lot Owners at Lake Lorman, can change them. If you have ideas about this or want to sponsor a new or revised Covenant that changes or replaces an existing Covenant, the Board welcomes any such ideas and suggestions. On the Lake Lorman website, you can find the most recent Covenants. They include procedures for how to change a Covenant or add a new Covenant that you think would be beneficial to the Lake community. Below is an excerpt from the Covenants regarding how to initiate a change: The Covenants may likewise be amended at any annual or special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Lake Lorman Corporation, hereinafter referred to as the "Board". Such an amendment, alteration or revocation of the Protective Covenants shall be approved by no less the three fourths of the then current owners of lots in the foregoing subdivision present at such annual or special meeting. No amendment shall be ordered at such annual or special meeting unless at least 60 days notice shall be given that such an amendment alteration or revocation of protective Covenants will be considered at such annual or special meeting. Such notice shall include a summary or other explanation of the proposed amendment, alteration or revocation. Publication may be in any newsletter or bulletin of the Lake Lorman Corporation and shall be mailed to all lot owners listed on the then current mailing list of the Corporation. Any approval of an amendment, alteration or revocation at a meeting of the Board may be made by voice vote of persons authorized to vote unless the Board requires a ballot vote or unless a ballot vote is requested by at least ten percent of the members present at the meeting. Please feel free to contact any Board member if you would like additional information or would like to sponsor a covenant change. In order to be presented at the December 10, 2018 annual meeting, all submissions must be finalized no later than October 1 (to allow for the 60 day advance notice time frame). The next monthly Board meeting will be held Monday, August 20 at 6pm at the clubhouse. If you would like to be placed on the agenda, please contact the Board no later than noon the Wednesday before the meeting.

4 2018 Graduates Walker Ashcraft Robertson, son of Ray and Mandy Robertson, graduated with a Masters in Accountancy from Ole Miss. He will be going to work at Ernst & Young in Houston, TX. David Middleton Robertson, son of Ray and Mandy Robertson graduated from Jackson Academy. He isheaded to Mississippi State with plans to study Biology. Jesse Pound, son of Charlie and Reagan Pound graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He will be attending graduate school at Villanova. William Joseph Banks Jr., grandson of Robbyee and Bill Banks graduated from Air Force basic training May 11, He will be assigned to Goodfellow AFB Texas for technical school and then complete his six year enlistment.

5 Samantha Grace McCraw, granddaughter of Richard and Linda McCraw graduated from Germantown High School. She plans on going to Holmes and then on to Miss College to be a neonatal nurse. Patrick Brian Phillips, son of Elisa and Brian Phillips graduated from Jackson Prep. He will be attending University of Mississippi where he will major in Accounting. Dalton Rhys Dear, son of Dave and Gena Dear graduated from St. Andrews. He will be attending Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in the fall. Reagan R. Leeper, daughter of Allen and Dana White, graduated with distinction from Madison Central High School She plans to attend Mississippi State University in the fall to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences and will seek entry into the College of Veterinary Medicine.

6 Benjamin Rawson Hawthorne, II (Rawson), son of Ben and Alison Hawthorne, graduated from Madison Central High School. He will be attending Holmes in the fall. Kelsey Brooke Jones, daughter of Van and Nancy Jones graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing. Kelsey is getting married October 13, 2018 and is moving to Memphis, TN where she will start work at Methodist Hospital on the Labor and Delivery Unit. Shelby Quinn Andress, daughter of Scott & Karla Andress graduated from Jackson Preparatory School. She will attend the University of Alabama. Knox Leposer, son of Jay and Leslie Loposer, graduated from Madison Central High School. He will attend Ole Miss on a baseball scholarship.
