1 Pacific Northwest Division LOGGER October/November Hosting the TT T T Celebration in 2005 HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL. Come and join in the fun. Let s clean out those closets and bring your trains for sale - - if you don t have any extra to part with, there should be plenty of tables with those great bargains for sale, so you can add to your collection. A delicious lunch, very similar to what we did in February of this year, will be served. We have the same vendor that will supply us with the same excellent food and because it s getting a bit nippy outside, we also added soup to the menu. For just $5.00, you can have a sub-sandwich, including a salad OR soup, chips and beverage. If you choose to have both soup & salad with the sub-sandwich, along with the chips and beverage, it s only $7.00 for all. It is very important that those of you who will be staying for lunch to let us know. On the top of the registration form is a box to indicate how many in your party will eat lunch. Please fill it out so we can provide sufficient food. We don t want anyone going hungry.. There will again be the Silent Auction. Pick up your auction sheets at the front desk ($1.00 per lot) NO LIMIT. The regular reserve auction will start right after we have had a bite to eat around 12:30 or so. REMEMBER PLEASE REGISTER EARLY. 40 TABLES ARE PROVIDED ANYTHING OVER THE 40 WILL HAVE TO BE RENTED EXTRA. WE DON T WANT TO BE SHORT SO LET US KNOW YOUR NEEDS. But, besides all that, we are moving ahead with the 2005 TCA National Convention planning and continuing our fund raising efforts. By the way, thanks to those who have already offered their homes for the planned layout tours. The tours are all pretty well locked in now, seventeen plus of them. You might want to know, we have some very hard working people out there and spending much of their personnel time working on this effort. BUT THEY NEED HELP! It is very disturbing to me that less than 10% of our membership is presently involved in the planning effort for the 2005 TCA National Convention. This is an opportunity to show your support for the Pacific Northwest Division and climb aboard. There are many areas where you can help, just contact any PNWD TCA Board Member and inform them that you want to help. The York Meet again was a record breaker with over sixteen thousand members attending. The PNWD TCA 2005 Convention Planning crew were there also: Co-Chairs, Barilyn Suskin and Tom Steeves; Treasurer, Barbara Flinchbaugh; Convention Car Chair, Dick Flinchbaugh; Seattle Chapter President, Frank Geczi as well as Steve Suskin, Gail Steeves. I would like to also give a great big THANKS to Carol Roache who lives in Norwich, CT (NETCA Division). Carol spent most of the day on Friday helping us sell our division clothing as well as promoting the many wonderful tours that are being planned. Since Carol and her husband, Wayne had already taken a cruise to Alaska, she really was our resident expert on the After Convention ALASKA CRUISE. Many thanks to everyone for their efforts in promoting the convention. As I write this message, I understand Dick Flinchbaugh, PNWD meet Czar has full steam up planning the November 21 st PNWD Fall Meet in Chehalis. See details on page 1. So, let s show your support, register and attend the PNWD Fall meet. God Bless, Merle David Howry 4715 Northport Drive Mukilteo, WA Phone: dchowry@hotmail.com A 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation E D IT O R S C O M M E N T S To preserve an important segment of history Tinplate Toy Trains through research, establishment of collecting standards, education, community outreach and fellowship and to promote the growth and enjoyment of the hobby. The Pacific Northwest Division crew that attended the Division Meet in York, PA on October 15/16 certainly enjoyed the Community Outreach and Fellowship of a TCA member s wife. Carol Roache from Norwich, CT (Wayne is a member of NETCA Division) virtually spent the entire day on Friday helping out. Carol sold clothing, answered questions and then to top it all off, served as our resident expert to answer the many questions regarding the Post-Convention ALAKSA Cruise that is being offered with very special TCA rates. Carol, we can t express our gratitude enough and you certainly exemplify the true meaning of the TCA MOTTO. You reached out in so many ways, all to promote the growth and enjoyment of the hobby.

The G Gauge Chief Wenatchee box car is a wonderful companion piece to the Great Northern box car that was produced in 1995 and nearly 200 pieces were sold of that.
