3 Victory Riders meet the 2nd Monday of every month at The Brisket House on Highway 84 East. Come early, (around 6) to eat and fellowship and we will begin the meeting at 7:00 P.M. Chaplain s Corner Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28 30 Those who follow Jesus commandments entirely, who let Jesus yoke rest on them without resistance, will find the burden they must bear to be light. In the gentle pressure of this yoke they will receive the strength to walk the right path without becoming weary. Where will the call to discipleship lead those who follow it? What decisions and painful separations will it entail? We must take this question to Him who alone knows the answer. Only Jesus Christ, who bids us follow him, knows where the path will lead. But we know that it will be a path full of mercy beyond measure. Discipleship is joy. Pray specifically for family, friends, and colleagues that they might clearly hear the call to discipleship (which is the call to love and justice), and that they might experience following Jesus commandment as joy in the concrete realities of their lives. It s all about Jesus! David Smith, Chaplain Don t forget Bible Study on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Bring your Bible and a desire to grow in the Word. (Also bring something good to eat and share!) We are still studying the book of Hebrews.
4 Belated Happy Anniversary to Bill & Norma on December12 and H.O. & Paula on December 26 Happy Birthday wishes to Mike January 21 Jim Smith January 25 January Holidays National Blood Donor Month if you haven t donated recently, and are physically able, consider making a donation of life this month. National Soup Month remember this when Bible study time rolls around! January 16 is Appreciate a Dragon Day, National Nothing Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. s Birthday (celebrated) January 23 is National Handwriting Day National Handwriting Day would be a great day to pick up paper and a pen or pencil and actually write a note or letter to someone no keyboards allowed! Wouldn t that make them feel special. Also January 23 is Measure Your Feet Day WHY???.
