So one day he asked God: "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God answered, "Among the many angels I chose one for you." She will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child thought a while and asked God. " But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy." God answered, "Your angel will sing for you and also smile for you every day, and you will feel your angel's love and be happy." "Oh," the child said, "and how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, If I don't understand the language that men speak?" God answered, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words that you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak." November 15th at Holy Spirit 2-7 pm The child looked at God and asked. "What am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" 1

Dear Brothers: This autumn marks the fortieth anniversary of the Jonestown massacre. I was not quite twenty-one at the time, just beginning my journey into the Catholic faith.

I was not quite twenty-one at the time, just beginning my journey into the Catholic faith. The images of the dead bodies strewn around the compound many of them small children haunt me to this day. "Ah," God answered, " "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life. "But, I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." "Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always Be next to you," God answered." At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly: "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name." The Rev. Jim Jones may have been an ordained minister, but Jesus s message was never the center of his movement. He preyed on the most vulnerable: the poor, the disenfranchised, and those with an emptiness in their souls. He enticed them with his vision of an earthly paradise, and brainwashed them into worshiping him, not God. He then led them into the Guyana jungle and murdered them. Sweetly God looked at the child and whispered, "Your angel's name is of no importance. You will call your angel, MOM." Perhaps the most chilling image of the massacre was a photo of the compound s central meeting room. Hanging over the dead bodies was a sign, all in capital letters: THOSE WHO DO NOT REMEMBER THE PAST ARE CONDEMNED TO REPEAT IT. That is a warning, but not just to the would-be followers of false prophets. It is a warning to us. When we fail to serve the poor, marginalized and broken, they may turn to the Jim Joneses of the world. FOR THOSE WHO SERVE OTHERS O Lord our heavenly Father, whose blessed Son came not to be served but to serve: Bless, we beseech thee, all who, following in his steps, give themselves to the service of others; that with wisdom, patience, and courage, they may minister in his name to the suffering, the friendless, and the needy; for the love of him who laid down his life forus, the same thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ, wholiveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Let us not forget Jesus s last commandment to us: Love one another as I have loved you. And let us not forget the victims of Jonestown, and pray for them. Benefit Period The maximum benefit period is the longest period for which monthly disability benefits are payable for any one period of a disability.
