Miller, J. u. Miller, Penick and Present 7, absetit 0. 0n motion of Grubb, seconded by J. G, Miller reading of minutes were dispensed with. Communication Communication was received from U. S. Senator Pomerine in which he stated that from he recommended an appropriation of $15, to be used by the U. S. Geographical U. b. Senatorpepartment, making a survey of the gas supply of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, Pomerine. hut the committee had voted it down. He stated that he did not see any relief in sight until next session of Congress. The City solicitor stated that his department had asked for an order from the Common Pleas Court to restrain the East Ohio gas Company and the Alliance Gas & Power Company from shutting off the gas on November 1st, and he had secured a temporary order for same, also that the Public Utilities Commission at Columbus had ordered the service continued until July 1, The following bid was received for the $38,000-5% Deficiency Bonds: BIDS DOR THE CITY OF ALLIANCE, OHIO BONDS' Bid for Deficiency Bonds MONDAY OCTOBER 27th, 1919 To the Council Committee on Finance And the City Auditor of the City of Alliance, For the $38, b% Deficiency Bonds we will pay the sura of $38, Dollars and in addition thereto accrued interest to date of delivery. *e agree to furnish the necessary blank bonds free of cost to the City of Alliance, Enclosed find certified check for Eleven Hundred and forty Dollars payable to the Treasurer of Alliance, Ohio, which we hereby pledge for the faithful performance of this bid in case same is accepted. Said bonds to be duly and legally executed and to be delivered to us at Alliance, Interest to be computed on basis of 365 days to the year. Resolution To authorize the sale of $120, Bonds of the City of Alliance, 168-B Introduced.À Was read the first time and referred to Finance Committee for immediate action. ORDINANCE 169-B. To authorize an expenditure out of the Contingent account of the General 169-B f Fund, introduced. 1 Was read the first time and referred to Finance Committee for immediate action. ORDINANCE 170-B. 170-B introduced, Mr. Lower: An ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Service of the City of Alliance, Ohio j -to enter into a contract with the Director General of Railroads and the New York Central R. R. Company for the construction and maintenance of a railroad switch to be used in the operation of the City Water Works of the City of Alliance, - W a s read the first time and referred to Committee on Railroads and Telegraph, for immediate action. ORDINANCE 171-B. Mr. Lower: An ordinance to make supplementary appropriations to the regular semi annual appropriation ordinance for the current expenses and other expenditures of the 171-B. city of Alliance, State of introduced Was read the first time and referred to Finance D ommittee for immediate action. On motion of Weaver, seconded by Lower Council referred back to reports of standing committees.
