1 Volume 11, issue 1 January 2019 It's winter again so we need to remember some of the problems associated with city streets and snow removal. City ordinance # makes it illegal to park on city streets from November 1st through March 31st. No parking at any time if snow is accumulating on the roadways. Vehicles left in the street are subject to be towed. It is illegal to push, shovel or blow snow into the street. If you are pushing snow across the street, please take a couple of extra minutes and clean-up any snow that you left on the street. Make sure the street is as wide as it was before you started. (No snowbanks that extend into the roadway.) Those small wind rows that you leave freeze and make it more difficult for your neighbors as they drive down the street and makes it more difficult for the snowplows to get the road clean when they start plowing again. As the workers are pushing snow, they cannot swerve to push the snow to the other side of the street and they can't push right or left to keep from pushing snow into your driveway. They drive straight down the road and push the snow to their right, always. Be safe and look out for your neighbors if they need your help. Mayor Nick Castleton

4 OBITUARIES Richard Oscar Erickson, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, He was born January 15, 1938 in Mammoth, Utah to Oscar and Lilly Rostrom Erickson. He married Kathleen Mary Allman six months after being set up on a blind date, December 27, They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary just two days prior to his passing. He was passionate about fishing, hunting and anything in the great outdoors. His wife said that early in their engagement they were headed to go fishing and he stopped talking. When asked why he wasn t talking he stated that I can t talk when I m thinking about fishing! He enjoyed every minute he spent with his fishing pole and all his fishing buddies. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and the night before he passed he needed to know that the Jazz had won their last game. He also loved watching Real Salt Lake play and traveled throughout the world. His best time was camping with family and friends and sitting around the campfire. He served in the Air Force and retired from the Utah National Guard. He worked as a firefighter at Dugway Proving grounds where he was a crew chief. He loved to cook and experimented with many recipes over the years. He always had a beautiful garden and spent many hours working in his yard. He was the best Christmas tree decorator around and spent hours meticulously making the lights perfect on every branch. He loved the many dogs he had over the years and we expect that they are happy to have play with him again. The most important people in his world were his wife Kathy, daughter Corri, son(-inlaw) Samir and his three grandsons Ammon Oscar, Wyatt Husein and Morgan Samir. They were his greatest joy and he would do anything for them. He loved attending every soccer game (and there were a lot) over the years. He was the proudest Grandpa around and he loved telling anyone and everyone about his boys. Richard suffered with declining health over the years but fought every day remain with his loved ones. He was the strongest man we have ever known. He was so happy this Christmas and stated that it was the best Christmas ever! We will miss him every day but know that he will be waiting with open arms to take us fishing again. Richard is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughter Corri (Samir) Uvejzovic; grandsons Ammon, Wyatt and Morgan Uvejzovic; sister Elaine (James) Lunt; sister-in-law Coralee Erickson; brother-in law David (Christina); brother-in-law Norman (Pat); Terry (Leslie) Snook; special daughter Mina Gough; numerous nieces and nephews; friends; and his faithful dog Paisley. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Lilly Erickson, brother Robert (Bob) Erickson, brother-in-law Wayne and his wife Joyce; and sister-in-law Virginia Branagan. A special Thank You to Valeo Hospice for the care they gave him and his friend Sergio for the amazing care that he gave. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for all family and friends.
