6 P AGE 6 J ANUARY 2014 ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS by Rhonda Luetje King Avenue is not only committed to communicating effectively with its congregants, but also to providing information to those who are searching for a church home. We do that through our website, blasts, and social media. O u r w e b s i t e, provides a plethora of resources. You will find articles highlighting the upcoming events, past sermons, a page for all of the ministries of the church, and the Carillon newsletter. A new feature is the weekly blog...the King Avenue Chatter. We are excited for people to visit the blog each week to learn something about our church, and to leave their own two-cents worth. If you are already receiving blasts, then you know how helpful it can be to keep you in the loop of the upcoming events. If you d like to be included in the King Avenue blast list, simply scroll down to the bottom of our website s home page, and look on the right-hand side. You will see a spot to sign up. We are also reaching out to people on social media. King Avenue has a Facebook Page (King Avenue UMC) and a Facebook Group (King Avenue United Methodist Church). The Page is the official Facebook presence of King Avenue and the content is populated by the King Avenue Director of Online Communications. It s open for anyone to Like and visit. The Group is a closed Facebook presence in which people request to join, and must be approved. The Group pro- Rhonda Luetje rhonda@kingave.org vides a forum for people to post joys, concerns, or anything else for the good of the church. You can follow King Avenue on Twitter (@kingaveumc). Youtube provides a way to follow King Avenue video content. You can find us on YouTube by searching for King Ave UMC. We also have a new Instagram account at KINGAVEUMC. Hopefully you ve found King Avenue s online presence to be helpful, and perhaps has that it has in some way enriched your experience here. Our hope also is that our online presence will provide an avenue for people to find us, and hopefully find a church home in us!
