2 Page 2 PARISH NEWS JPII GIFT AND BOOK SHOP NEWS A very Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families! We hope that under your tree you found a few items that Santa purchased from our Gift Shop. St. Nick just wanted to remind you of the true meaning of Christmas in the midst of all the commercialization. As they say Jesus is the true reason for the season. The Gift Shop will be closed during the weekend of December (Even Santa s volunteer elves need a break!) The Shop will re-open for regular weekend hours on January 5-6, which is the Feast of Epiphany or Three Kings. If you purchased a house blessing kit last year to use to commemorate the Feast, you can just refill the holy water bottle (from the church fonts) if needed and re-use the incense and chalk. We will also have kits available for a small donation again this year. Blessing your house is a good opportunity to bring the family together in prayer and thanksgiving in your own domestic church. FAITH FORMATION By Grace Lakatos This year s Giving Tree and Holiday mail for Heroes once again showed the generous, loving and faithful hearts of our parish. As this bulletin is going to the publisher prior to the delivery of both of these projects, we will all have to wait to hear the final numbers. I can assure you that from the looks of mountain of gifts and the boxes of cards, we definitely surpassed last year s giving. What amazing examples of the true meaning of the season we have here at St. Kateri. On behalf of all our recipients, thank you very much and God bless you. Please remember that our Faith Formation program resumes on Saturday, January 5th, Confirmation Preparation classes resume on Monday, January 7th and 1st Eucharist Preparation classes begin on Saturday, January 12th. Each new year brings us new opportunities to know Him more, to walk in faith, and to grow by His grace. May your new year be blessed in the Lord.
