Was the response Samuel and Isaiah made along with others who answered God s calling. Now we have someone who answered the call for our church. Pastor Darren Olson, his wife Brenda and their family will be joining us mid September to carry on the ministry that God started here years ago. How exciting is that? A new chapter in our church begins and the story continues. God is so good! We hope that you were able to join us for the Candidate weekend, but if you weren t able to or have questions, please feel free to contact either the Search Committee or one of the Elders. We are excited to join in this adventure with you. More information will come as we get closer to September but please continue to keep Pastor Darren s family and his church in prayers as they transition to this new path with us. Specifically, he has asked us to pray for the selling of his current house. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15 *Visit the Church website for more information and details! 4 AUGUST BIRTHDAYS Lake Beauty Bible Camp Summer Camp 2018 Frontier Kids 2 3 Jr High A visit to Sweden It was wonderful meeting Barb Swanson for the first time, missionary to Malmö, Sweden. Karen Powell (daughter of Kermit & Charlotte Erickson), along with her son, Aaron and his family - Rachel, Kathryn & Nathan Powell, enjoyed Fika with Barb while visiting Sweden in July. Aaron and his family are living in Malmö for the summer. It was interesting to hear all the work Barb and her husband are doing with the immigrants in Malmö and how they are sharing the good news of Jesus with them. The money collected for the Elder Fund helps support those from our Church family in a time of need. Don t forget about the online giving option! I would like to start this newsletter off by thanking you for being a family that has supported me through many seasons of my life. I could not have taken the necessary steps in previous seasons to strengthen my relationship with the Lord if it had not been for you supporting me emotionally, prayerfully, and financially! I sincerely thank you with all my heart for staying by my side as I joined Youth With a Mission (YWAM) last summer. My time with YWAM Colorado Springs was extremely beneficial to my relationship with Christ, and I have learned so much about God and about myself! The Lord took me through a time of emotional and spiritual healing during this past season, and through that I have grown so much closer to Him. I am so excited to see and share with you what He will do in the seasons to come! That being said, I am so filled with joy to share with you that I will be continuing my schooling with YWAM! I will be moving to Lakeside, Montana this September (9/16/18) to start what is called a School of Biblical Studies (SBS) with YWAM Montana. This school is a nine month long course that allows students to dig deep into the word of God by effectively studying through all 66 books of the bible. Students will read each book of the bible five times, allowing them to study the cultural and historical background of each author and original reader of each book. Students will then be able to apply what they read to their personal lives as well as see the big picture of the bible and what it s really about: our Creator Himself! The nine months of this school are split into three phases, where each phase is structured with a specific learning plan to help guide students in their studying. My heart behind doing this school is to grow deeper in my relationship with God and to learn not only how to effectively study the bible but also learn how to teach it. I have a desire to teach and preach the Word of God to those who are wandering, lost, or in need of revival in their relationship with Christ Jesus. I have come to learn that the Word of God is a tangible gift from God Himself that influences our lives more than we may believe. It is not just a book filled with stories, but it is a way of life that reveals the nature and character of our God! It is a story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. It is a living hope that leads us on this earth until our return home. This dream that God has put in my heart, however, cannot come alive without some help from you! I would like to ask you, as my church family, to partner with me through support which I am in need of. The entire school of SBS will require me to raise $8,700. My tuition fees will cover school supplies, lodging, meals, transportation costs, guest speaker travels, and other related expenses for the entire nine months of schooling. If thought of monthly, it is roughly one thousand dollars a month for the cost of all living. I would love to ask you to prayerfully consider supporting me financially! Any contribution helps; even an amount of five dollars can make a difference! If you feel as though the Lord has put it on your heart to support me financially, checks may be made payable to YWAM and sent to Admissions Office, 501 Blacktail Road, Lakeside, MT Please be sure to include a sticky note with your check that says the payment is for my SBS tuition. The most important thing that I could ask from you aside from financial support is prayer support! I would like to ask that you would join me in praying for full funding for schooling, and that God would be preparing my heart for this upcoming season of my life. Prayers for healthy community and relationships would also be greatly appreciated! If you have any questions for me or would like to discuss the possibilities of supporting me, please do not hesitate to contact me! I am more than willing to answer any questions you might have and I again want to thank you for your constant love and support! It means the world to me to have a church family I know that I can lean on for anything. I hope and pray that you will join me in yet another adventure in my journey with God! May He bless you abundantly. With love, Megan Harmening
