2 HUSBAND - Robert Williams, Sr., and Ann Lee and Sarah unknown Timeline[1] Page 2 of 9 Abt 1713 Perhaps Isle of Wight Co., VA, or Bertie Co., NC. Robert Williams was born. John Meidl on Williams at proposed that he was the son of George Williams, Jr., and Sarah Mann. (George Williams, Jr., was in Isle of Wight Co., VA, in 1704 and in Bertie Co. by 1722.) However, I think it is more likely that the Rev. Robert Williams, born 1717 in Chowan Precinct of Albemarle County, North Carolina, was the son of George Williams, Jr., and Sarah Mann Bertie Precinct was formed from the part of Chowan Precinct of Albemarle County lying west of the Chowan River, according to Wikipedia.org. Abt 1734 Perhaps Bertie Co., NC. Robert Williams married, daughter of Godfrey Lee and Sarah unknown. According to John Meidl, Robert Williams married first and then Sarah unknown. It is not clear who was the mother of the children but since was the first wife she is probably the mother. Robert Williams, Sr. had two deeds dated 1768 that mention his wife Sarah. Abt 1734 Perhaps Bertie Co., NC. George Williams was born to Robert and Anne. A 1768 deed of gift from Robert Williams and second wife, Sarah, to George suggests that he was Robert s son. Abt Feb 1740 Perhaps Bertie Co., NC. Margaret Williams was born to Robert and Anne. NOTE: I do not know of any proof that Margaret was their daughter Northampton County was formed from Bertie County, NC Northampton Co., NC. Robert Williams was in the tax index.[2] Abt 1750 Northampton Co., NC. Robert Williams, Jr., was born to Robert and Anne. A 1768 deed of gift from Robert Williams and second wife, Sarah, to Robert suggests that he was Robert s son. Other transactions between Robert Sr. and Robert Jr. also argue for relationship. May Ct 1750 Northampton Co., NC. The will of George Williams [Jr.] was probated. Sons: Robert one Negro; George, land bought of Matthew Kinchen and one Negro; Samuel, one Negro; Jacob, one Negro; William, one Negro. Lands lying on Hopkin Howell's Spring Branch, and Kerby's Creek. Taylor, Nicholas Monger, William Monger. Clerk of Court. J. Edwards.[3] [Robert is the son of George Williams, Jr., & therefore Robert s son George is a grandson of George Williams, Jr.] 08 May 1751 Northampton Co., NC. Samuel and Robert Williams, both of Northampton County (buyer is not noted in excerpt) 11 pounds 10 shillings current money of Virginia 150 acres joining a branch being the said lands granted to George Williams deceased 04 August 1741, all houses, orchards, and gardens Witness: John Simpson, and John Monger Reg: Northampton County May Court 1751 J. Edwards, Ck. of Court.[4] This is land they inherited from their father. Abt 1754 Probably Dobbs or Northampton Co., NC. George Williams married Tabitha unknown. Apr 1757-Apr 1758 Dobbs Co., NC. Thomas Lane to Robert Williams.[5] (This deed is not available as it was lost in the 1880 fire of the Greene County, North Carolina Court House.) (William Bennett, Genealogist, Rocky Mount, North Carolina). Abt 1760 Probably Dobbs Co., NC. Margaret Williams married Benjamin Best, Sr. (I do not know of proof that she was the daughter of Robert Williams and Anne Scott/Lee.)

Abt 1773 Dobbs or Duplin Co., NC. Robert Williams, Jr., married Mary Harper. 17 Aug 1775 Duplin Co., NC. Robert Williams (Sr.), deed to James Love of Duplin County, for 280 acres he mentions "except 6 feet square of land where I the said Robert Williams hath buried my wife."[14] Therefore Sarah is assumed to have died prior to 17 August 1775, and was buried at Maple Branch, Duplin County, North Carolina. [Could this refer to Anne, not Sarah?] 1776 Dobbs County, NC. Robert Williams is on the Tax List. He still owned land on Fort Run Swamp.
