As shared at the last General Conference of The United Methodist Church, the Peace Committee has been actively working to promote peace in the Korean Peninsula. As part of our mission, the Peace Committee is organizing a special program that includes the opportunity to visit North Korea in October We invite you to consider joining us. North Korea is known to most of the world as an isolated and secretive country. However, in the midst of this isolation, people are working to meet the needs of their families and desire a safe place in which their children can grow and thrive. The Peace Committee of The United Methodist Church invites you to travel with us for a rare opportunity to visit North Korea, experiencing its people, culture, and natural beauty: Date: October 7-14, 2017 (Depart from Beijing on October 7 and return to Beijing on October 14) Cost: $2,430*** (the cost includes round-trip airfare from Beijing, China to North Korea, a tourist visa for North Korea, coach bus transportation, 4-star hotel accommodations for 7 nights (double occupancy), 3 meals per day, a local driver, local guides, and admission fees for special entrances/concerts) ***Please note that the cost does NOT include the following: round-trip airfare to Beijing, travel and medical evacuation insurance (required), a visa for China (if required), tips for the driver and guides, and personal expenses. I am aware that DPRK tourism is run differently from other countries and possesses its own unique rules, regulations and customs to be followed.
