Published by riniy Bapis Church Recommendaion o Change ony s Job ile and Responsibiliies By Dr. Ryan Wilson A church in conference on April 24 h, Gary Jones, Personnel Chair, shared four differen pieces of informaion concerning our saff. Firs, we will have anoher summer inern his summer. His name is Nolan Carroll and he will begin in June. Second, Kelli Callahan is resigning effecive May 5 h. As many of you know, she is graduaing from Clemson and hoping o ge a eaching job. Wih his change, he Personnel Commiee has asked Preson Cooley o become our new youh miniser. he deacons have affirmed his recommendaion and Preson will begin his new duies May 15 h. he Personnel Commiee will begin o look for a new par-ime children s miniser in May and hope o fill i by Augus or Sepember (if you know someone ineresed, please conac me or Gary Jones). In looking o replace Jo Vickery, he Personnel Commiee has asked Carla Brock o be our inerim miniser of Music in June and July. Carla is he Seneca Middle School Chorus eacher. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Souh Carolina and her Maser of Music Educaion degree from he Universiy of Georgia. he deacons have affirmed his recommendaion and Carla will begin working wih our adul choir on May 29 h. Finally, he Personnel Commiee has made a recommendaion o change ony Vincen s job ile from Miniser of Educaion o Associae Miniser. his recommendaion came from he Personnel Commiee and was affirmed by he deacons and now goes before he church for a voe (since i s a full-ime posiion). he Associae Miniser s job would include significan leadership in hree areas of he congregaion: Music and Worship, Missions and Senior Aduls (a complee job descripion is available in he office). Wih he addiional responsibiliies, a salary adjusmen is recommended as well (from $43,260 o $50,000/year). he nex sep is o discuss his recommendaion again on Sunday, May 5 h, righ afer worship. Beween now and hen, we encourage everyone o ge a job descripion from he church office and bring any quesions you migh have o he called meeing on May 5 h. hen, he church will voe on his recommendaion on Sunday, May 19 h. Absenee ballos will be available for anyone who migh be ou of own. If approved, ony would begin his new duies in Augus. Even amids he changes, I am excied abou how God coninues o provide riniy wih wonderful saff members, and I appreciae your prayers and involvemen in he minisries of our church. Wha a joy i will be for Krisen and ony and our enire church family. For Moher s Day our choir will sing an offerory anhem ha Frank Lowe shared wih us as one of his favories. We will be honoring our graduaes on May 19h in our worship service. his is always special as we celebrae wih our graduaes and heir families a his ime of achieving heir educaion hrough high school and even college. I am so appreciaive of our choir members and heir dedicaion o God hrough using heir musical alens for leading our congregaion in worship each week. 3 Youh News from Kelli Callahan he school year is almos over! I know ha everyone is so excied o be done wih school, I know I am! No much is going on his monh. We will have Sunday nigh and Wednesday nigh lessons as usual. Graduaion recogniion Sunday is going o be on May 19h. So I hope ha all of he graduaing high school seniors can make i and ge recognized! Kelli Callahan ony Vincen Miniser of Chrisian Educaion Washingon DC Mission Immersion, July 28 h Augus 2 nd Over he las several years riniy has ravelled o Washingon and New York o work wih agencies and o learn abou life and minisry in a new way. his summer we re reurning o our naion s capial for anoher mission immersion. We ll be working wih some of he same agencies bu also working in new ways. We ll spend a day picking vegeables for a soup kichen and learning abou how we could work in a similar way in our communiy.
