1 Introduction Newspapers have existed in American life since the colonial period. While newspapers were/are published by private publishers, they often served/serve as the notice of record for official court and government business. Over time newspapers changed names, circulation times, merged or diverged from nearby titles, or even ceased production. The following is a list of all newspaper titles available through the Vermont State Archives Reference Room.
