1 Volume 22, Issue 10 Linda Harper, Editor October NEWS from Chamber President Wendy Kernan October means the beginning of the 4 th Quarter for businesses, which means keeping the energy high and the drive going, not to mention the fact that with fourth quarter comes budgeting for 2019, holidays, parties, employees getting in their final vacation days in. This quarter determines how strong your business will start Success in business is about finding the opportunity and then capitalizing on it and there is no better opportunity then the fourth quarter. The behaviors and the sales expectations you have in fourth quarter will be the single biggest determining factor in how much business you do in the first quarter and perhaps in all of Hopefully, your competition has taken their foot off the gas and you will be able capitalize on that. So, get ready and make that last push to not only end the year strong but give you a great start in the new year. I also want to remind everyone that October 24 th from 7AM-8AM at the Mt. Zion Convention Center is the Annual Prayer Breakfast. If you have never been to a prayer breakfast, I would encourage you to come. The Mt. Zion Chamber along with St. Mary s Hospital and the local churches of Mt. Zion come together to host this event. This event serves both our community and our members. Here is what you can expect: You will experience growth - You will become more involved and unified with other people, which will lead to growth in both your spiritual and personal life. You will find strength in numbers There is power when you begin to pray together before the day even begins. We stand together as a group and pray for the challenging moments within the community, the country, and within ourselves. You will learn about the community Local leaders and officials are present. What better time to meet those that lead our community. If those aren t compelling enough reasons 10% of the proceeds will be donated back to the community. Please buy your tickets today for $10 by contacting Linda at or stop by Mt. Zion s Town and Country Bank, Scott State Bank, Prairie State Bank, or the Village Hall. You can also contact any Board member or Ambassador for tickets. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your business! Sincerely, Wendy J Kernan Mt.
