7 Ephesians 5:1 2 1:Therefore be Imitators of God, as beloved children; 2:and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. How do we become Imitators of God? 7

9 We look like God the most when we give to him our very best! What you are is God's gift to you! What you make of yourself is your gift to God! 9

10 In 1820, Charles Caleb Colton coined the phrase that states: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. James Baldwin,, an American writer, once said, Children have never been good at listening i to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them. 10

11 3 John 1:11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. 11

12 The next tchallenge Live a life of love! (a daily behavior!) Christ loved us & gave His life for us Like the story of a soldier that was wounded so badly he had to get an amputation. a The surgeon ugeo after the surgery said to him: "I am sorry to tell you that you have lost your arm." 13 Ephesians 5:3 4 3:But B t immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4: and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which hare not fitting, but rather giving gof thanks. 13

14 V3 4: Paul attacks the sins of the pagan world. Sins of Sexual Immorality Not Married Sins of Conversation Posturing, Pride Sins Fornication illicit it sexual activity. it Sins Uncleanness Abroader term for impurity. 14

15 Sins of Covetousness Anything that takes higher priority in your life than Obeying Gods teachings! Sins of Filthy talk Obscenities. Shameful, filthy, or obscene speech. Sins of Foolish talk Silly talk. Talk of fools. The conversation of a drunkard. Sins of Course talk Quick wit, Crude joking, light of human weakness or human goodness. 15

16 A man sat down to supper with his family, saying grace, thanking God for: the food, for the hands which prepared it, and for the source of all life. 16

17 But during the meal he complained about: The freshness of the bread, the bitterness of the coffee and to much salt on the vegetables. His young daughter questioned him, "Dad, do you think God heard the grace today?" He answered confidently, "Of course." 17

18 Then she asked, "And do you think God heard what you said about the coffee, the vegetables, and the bread?" Not so confidently, he answered, "Why, yes, I believe so." The little girl concluded, "Then which do you think God believed, Dd?" Dad?" 18

19 Ephesians 5:5 5: For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 19

22 Ephesians 5:6 8 6:Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7:Therefore do not be partakers with them; 8:for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light. 22

23 Ephesians 5:9 10 9:For the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth,10:trying th t to learn what ht is pleasing to the Lord. 23

24 Light produces Good Fruit! Here are some of the Fruits of light. 1. Goodness 2. Righteousness 3. Truth Walking in the light produces spiritual fruit! 24

25 Ephesians 5: :Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12:for f it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 25

26 Ephesians 5: :But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that t becomes visible iibl is light. 14:For this reason it says, y, Awake, sleeper, Isaiah 60:1 3 And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you. 26

27 Evil activity, when dragged into the light of Christ, is seen for what it is! 27

28 Ephesians 5: (NKJ) 15: See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,16: 6 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Circumspectly: Careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences. 28

29 Ephesians 5: :So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18:And A d do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 29

30 Ephesians 5: : Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing i and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20:always y giving g thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; 21:and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. 30
