1 Gathering & Sharing THE HARVEST & DISTRIBUTING THE WORD Micah 4:1-2: But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 1 Peter 4:10: As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God Matthew 13:7: But others fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit; some an hundred-fold, some sixty-fold, and some thirty-fold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Mark 4:3-7: And he said unto them in his doctrine, Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow; 4 And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth; but when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 6 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it; and it yielded no fruit. 7 And other seed fell on good ground, and did yield fruit, that sprang up and increased, and brought forth, some thirty-fold, and some sixty and some an hundred. Matthew 25:1-12: And then, at the day, before the Son of Man comes, the kingdom of heaven shall be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five of them were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them; but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 4 While the bridegroom tarried they all slumbered and slept. 5 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 6 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 7 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 8 But the wise answered, saying, Lest there be not enough for us and you, go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 9 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. 10 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us. 11 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, Ye know me not. 12 Watch therefore; for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.

2 Genesis 7:40: And in the garden of Eden gave I unto man his agency; and unto thy brethren have I said, and also gave commandment, that they should love one another; and that they should choose me their Father. Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Alma 14: 81-88: Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss; but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! 82 And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God, to bring about this great work. 83 Behold, thousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God. 84 Behold, the field was ripe, and blessed are ye, for ye did thrust in the sickle, and did reap with your mights, yea, all the day long did ye labor; 85 And behold the number of your sheaves, and they shall be gathered into the garners, that they are not wasted; yea, they shall not be beaten down by the storm, at the last day; 86 Yea, neither shall they be harrowed up by the whirlwinds; but when the storm cometh, they shall be gathered together in their place, that the storm can not penetrate to them; yea, neither shall they be driven with fierce winds, whithersoever the enemy listeth to carry them. 87 But behold, they are in the hands of the Lord of the harvest, and they are his; and he will raise them up at the last day. 88 Blessed be the name of our God; let us sing to his praise, yea, let us give thanks to his holy name, for he doth work righteousness for ever. Alma 12: 2-5: Now these sons of Mosiah were with Alma at the time the angel first appeared unto him; therefore Alma did rejoice exceedingly, to see his brethren; 3 And what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord; yea, and they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; 4 For they were men of a sound understanding, and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God. 5 But this is not all: they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting, therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with power and authority, even as with the power and authority of God. Doctrine & Covenants 16:3c-4a: Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; for, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him. 3d And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him on conditions of repentance. 3e And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth. Wherefore you are called to cry repentance unto this people. 3f And if it 2

3 so be that you should labor all your days, in crying repentance unto this people, and bring save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father! 4a And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy, if you should bring many souls unto me! Doctrine & Covenants 4: Intro SECTION 4 Revelation given to Joseph Smith, Sr., through his son, the prophet, at Harmony, Pennsylvania, February a Now, behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men, 1b therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind, and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day; 1c therefore, if ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work, for, behold, the field is white already to harvest, 1d and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perish not, but bringeth salvation to his soul; 1e and faith, hope, charity, and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualifies him for the work. 2a Remember, faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.2b Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you. Doctrine & Covenants 84:2a: But, behold, in the last days, even now, while the Lord is beginning to bring forth the word, and the blade is springing up and is yet tender, behold, verily I say unto you, Jacob 3:148: And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard went his way, and hid the natural branches of the tame olive tree in the nethermost parts of the vineyard; some in one, and some in another, according to his will and pleasure. 1 Nephi 3: : For the time cometh, saith the Lamb of God, that I will work a great and a marvelous work among the children of men; 215 A work which shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other; 216 Either to the convincing of them unto peace and life eternal, or unto the deliverance of them to the hardness of their hearts and the blindness of their minds, unto their being brought down into captivity and also unto destruction, both temporally and spiritually, according to the captivity of the devil, of which I have spoken. Ezekiel 18:23: Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God; and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise and coming, as some men count slackness; but long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Doctrine & Covenants 45:13,14: 13a And it shall come to pass, among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor, must needs flee unto Zion for safety. 13b And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another. 13c And it shall be said among the wicked, Let us not go up to battle against Zion, for the inhabitants of Zion are terrible, wherefore we can not stand. 14 And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from among all nations, and shall come to Zion singing, with songs of everlasting joy. Distributing the Word Titus 3:7: That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 4

5 1 Timothy 4:15,16: Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that they profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them; for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. John 14:16-20: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me; because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Moroni 7:45-53: And again my beloved brethren, I would speak unto you concerning hope. 46 How is it that ye can attain unto faith, save ye shall have hope? And what is it that ye shall hope for? 47 Behold I say unto you, that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal; and this because of your faith in him according to the promise; 48 Wherefore, if a man have faith, he must needs have hope; for without faith there can not be any hope. 49 And again, behold I say unto you, that he can not have faith and hope, save he shall be meek and lowly of heart; if so, his faith and hope are vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly of heart; 50 And if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost, that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity, he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity. 51 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things; wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. 52 Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail; but charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth for ever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with them. 53 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son Jesus Christ, that ye may become the sons of God, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is, that we may have this hope, that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen. Isaiah 2:2-4: And it shall come to pass in the last days when the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it; 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem; 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. 2 Timothy 2:6: The husbandman that laboreth must be first partaker of the fruits. Moroni 6:5,6: And their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, 5

6 relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith. 6 And the church did meet together oft, to fast and to pray, and to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls: and they did meet together oft to partake of bread and wine, in remembrance of the Lord Jesus; Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Doctrine & Covenants 10:10a,b: Behold, this is your work, to keep my commandments; yea, with all your might, mind, and strength; seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; 10b then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit, and my word; yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men; 6
