3 Ethel Young Collection Collection 13 Biographical Information Involved with education since her graduation from Columbia Union College in 1946, Ethel Young has worked as teacher, supervisor, and associate secretary of the General Conference Department of Education. Her experience and her graduate study, which earned her an M.A. degree in elementary administration and supervision from the University of Maryland in 1954, have provided the background for her article writing and textbook editing. Her desire to provide elementary children with accurate stories of Adventist history is reflected in this collection. Scope The Ethel Young Collection was given to the Heritage Room in the James White Library, Andrews University in 1975 by Ethel Young. They contain correspondence, pictures, and copies of articles dealing with the stories in Seventh-day Adventist basic reader series and with Adventist pioneers in Bucks Bridge, New York. Arrangement The folders are referred to as "fld." They are numbered on the basis of topical and chronological sequence. To call for items in the collection, ask for collection 13 with the box and folder number as indicated in the following inventory. Use All users of this collection will complete the Application To Use Unpublished Records, and observe the regulations specified in the Patron s Agreement and Researcher s Code of Conduct.
