2 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy (1 Pet 2:9-10 NJKV). & What Does It Mean to Minister to the Lord? Ministering to the Lord is when we put our entire focus on God, honoring Him, turning our hearts to Him, and continuing to praise Him until we are not just worshipping Him with our lips, but we are touching something of Him with our Spirit. Our hearts become engaged and we begin to esteem Him. We open our inner being to Him, yield ourselves to His Holy Spirit, and become soft in His hands and open to His leadings (Prayer Altars, p 127). 3 King David, the man after God s own heart, lived a lifestyle of ministering to the Lord whether in dire circumstances or experiencing great victory. How to Minister to the Lord? How do we come into the presence of God and being in communion with Him? A. Hallowing the Name of the Lord Hallowing the name of the Lord means we make everything about Him, praising and exalting Him, and magnifying who He Is, what He has promised, and what He has done (Prayer Altars, p. 131) Hallow = Sanctify 3&

4 But when he sees his children, the work of My hands, in his midst, they will hallow My name, and hallow the Holy One of Jacob, and fear the God of Israel (Is 29:23 NJKV). Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name (Ps 30:4 NJKV). Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name (Ps 97:12 NJKV). In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us The Focus is on the our debts, As we forgive our debtors. Agenda, Amen. not ours Matthew 6:9-13 NJKV APPLICATION * The more we know who God is - His character, His qualities, His promises, the more and longer we can hallow His name * Through knowing the Word We can be sure that as we fight for our faith, as we determine to praise and hallow the name of the Lord, even as we are pushed and intimidated by the enemy, He is faithful and true, and will draw near to us as we minister to Him (Prayer Altars, p. 140). 4&

5 B. Living a Lifestyle of Praise Ministering to the Lord is not achieved in prayer time alone; it is achieved through my lifestyle. I need to live a lifestyle of praise (Prayer Altars, p. 137). If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chron 7:14 NJKV). When You said, Seek My face, My heart said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek. Ps 27:8 NJKV To practice lingering in the presence of God daily, to desire intimate communion with God, we need to learn to seek His face, and not His hand. We need to come to a place of adoring more than asking. To see His face is to seek His manifest Presence 5&

6 APPLICATION * Read 10 chapters of Psalms a day Seek His face not hand through songs, poems, words, or dance etc daily (See Isaiah 6) Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.
